First seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2002 its wasn’t until 2005 that the new Alfa Brera Coupe finally went on general sale. The Brera replaced the aging GTV Coupe and shares the same platform as the Alfa 159. The mid size Brera seats 4 adults and competes in the pretige coupe sector against the BMW 3 Series Coupe, Audi TT Coupe, Mazda RX8 and Nissan 350Z.
Alfa continue to make beautiful looking cars and the Brera is no exception to this. Inside the cabin the finish is neat and to a high standard expected within this sector. Three engines are available – 2.2 litre and 3.2 V6 petrols and a 2.4 litre diesel. The 2.4 diesel and 3.2 petrol both come with optional Q Tronic automatic transmission and the larger petrol unit version is also available with Alfa’s Q4 four wheel drive. In 2008 Alfa commissioned engineering specialists Prodrive to improve the ride and handling performance on a limited special edition version called the Brera S.
