The BMW 5 Series Saloon is a mid-size executive car manufactured by BMW since 1972. Despite strong competition from rivals such as the Volvo S80, Mercedes E Class and Saab 9-5 Saloon, the BMW 5 Series Saloon is now in its fifth generation. In January 2007, the BMW 5 Series received an update including new front and rear bumpers, restyled front headlights and restyled taillights with LED technology.

The optional six-speed Sports automatic transmission selects the right gear in a fraction of a second and thanks to the improved torque converter, it can shift down four gears simultaneously and save power.
Trim levels include SE and M Sport. The M Sport trim includes, 18" M light alloy wheels, front sport seats, lane departure warning system and M Sports suspension.
