The BMW M3 Convertible is a high performance sports car produced by German manufacturer BMW. Initially developed for the racetrack, the M3’s high performance power, stylish exterior and sporty demeanour made it a popular choice for the road. In 2007, BMW released the fourth generation of the M3 and the hardtop Convertible version joined the lineup. The new BMW M3 is a Convertible with the compelling charisma of an athlete. The flared wheel arches, broad stance and muscular powerdome testify immediately to a distinctive motorsport pedigree. With just touch of a button, the Retractable Hard-Top (RHT) opens up in only 22 seconds. And there’s no need to worry about extra luggage, as there is plenty of room - 210 litres when the roof is open and 350 litres when closed. Inside, driving pleasure starts in the driving seat. The interior in the M3 Convertible has been designed with the driver in mind and the trademark M instrument panel with variable M rev limiter, the M iDrive controller and M leather steering wheel all inspire you to truly take control of the immense 420 hp.
Lighter, smaller and even higher-revving, the BMW M3 Convertible’s V8 engine delivers a mighty 420hp (309Kw) – that’s 105 hp per litre – and it doesn’t redline until it reaches 8,400rpm. The clever engine delivers M power on demand in any situation and the V8 engine can propel you from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds.
Making its debut in all M3 models, M DCT with DRIVELOGIC transfers the 4.0 litre V8’s 420hp to the road without the slightest interruption in power delivery, making it the fastest transmission in its class. The BMW M3 Convertible now reaches 62 mph 0.2 seconds faster than with a manual transmission and gear changes are made just like in Formula 1 - without interruption and without having to release the gas pedal.
