Over recent years BMW have been market leaders with their executive saloon models, the famous 3 series, 5 series and 7 series all selling high volumes across the world, most notably in Europe. Factors for it's sales success range from cutting edge design and technology such as the recently developed Efficient Dynamics program, to the cars excellent performance and handling, making it one of the most appealing product ranges in the prestige car market. As well as the saloon car range the 3 and 5 series are available as estate touring cars and the 3 Series choice is further extended with a sporty Coupe and Convertible.
In 2003 BMW also entered the competitive small hatchback sector with the new 1 Series to compete with the likes of Audi, Mercedes and Volkswagen who have all recently launched a range of small family cars. The 1 Series is available in 4 body styles - 5 door hatchback, 3 Door sport hatch, and 2 door coupe and convertible.
In 2000 BMW broke the mould in the 4x4 market by introducing the X5, which proved a huge worldwide sales success. Thanks to the popularity of the X5, a smaller version called the X3 went on sale in 2004. In 2008 BMW introducing the X6, a cross between a 4x4 and Coupe. With a striking design the new X6 uses BMW's new XDrive engines and the latest innovative technology and safety equipment exclusive to BMW.
With a reputation for producting the ultimate driving machines BMW produce a range of sports cars including the Z4, available as a Roadster or Coupe, and a 6 Series Coupe and Convertible.
The 3 Series, 5 Series, Z4 and 6 Series range also undergo further development in BMW's M Division to satisfy the growing demand for high performance sports cars. Badged M Cars they include the M3, M5, Z4 M Roadster and M Coupe and M6.
