My partner got me this car in early 2008 so its been two years with this stunning car. Not cheap at all to buy this car but insurance is actually not that bad. The cost for it on petrol is though every week I end up spending around 20 pounds on the fuel weekly.
I have been to so many different places now with this car and its been fantastic. It has been a fine runner on the road especially in the bad weather. The last thing you want is a cold car in the bad weather, however this car warms up so fast you do not feel cold at all then.
On the road it has been very good for me, you always get rough drivers who could hit you. With brakes in this car it seems like near impossible for me because the brakes have been wonders for me saving me from rough drivers on the road.
The fog lights of the car have been very strong for me, been to a few dark roads on the motorway. Thanks to the fog lights of the car I have had no problems going through the roads, so everything is mostly a positive for this car.
I can comment and say I love everything about this car. I can not live with out it now. The car takes me everywhere with out giving me any problems. You get some cars that cause you trouble with the tires, the engine, the battery none of these problems have happened for me.
Overall just about every feature from the interior, to exterior and to the way the car runs on the road has been a pleasure for me. Hardly had any problems with this car and look forward to keeping it for a long time.
The only improvement that the car could have had is more features inside the car. Maybe a small TV built in would have appealed more? Or maybe something even better a SAT nav built in this would have even made the car even much better to own.
I think the petrol cost weekly is bad thing but how can we improve that? Its not really the car makers fault is it? We know these cars are expensive so we really can not improve that. The car is perfect to me mostly anyway I think its a stunning car!

A lovely car, runs well, handles well and feels like a very safe, solid drive. I drive to Sheffield most weekends from North Norfolk, it's a 300 odd mile round trip and the A3 is more than capable of providing a comfortable, no hassle journey. A real drivers car, you know you are driving this and it puts the fun back into driving.
I like the power it has in all gears, even in 5th gear it still has good pull! Plenty of boot space, as a cricketer this is vital! It has a nice CD player which is easy to use and the sound system is very good.
The headlights could be slighlty brighter, on full beam they are fine, but when on standard setting, driving round country roads requires that little extra care as the range is not great.

My car is the 1.9tdie version although it is a good solid car I would recommend going for a more powerful engine as this one does seem to be lacking in power. I find the car ideal for me size wise as I am 5ft 8 but my taller brother finds it a bit small for headroom but he is 6ft 4. The car is also good on fuel.
The car is good german quality and been pretty solid with virtually no trips to the garage for repairs
I would go for a slightly more powerful engine as the larger ones are much nicer to drive but were out of my price range at the time of purchase

This is my Dads company car, and they kindly put me on the insurance as a named driver for free. Its a really nice drive, everything feels well made and put together. I cant comment on the value for many aspect however, as I pay £0 to drive this car!
Although this is a diesel, acceleration is still very quick, a lot faster than many make out in other reviews I have read about this car. I drove to Edinburgh in this car which is about 4 hours from where I live, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
More features as standard. for example, my Dad had to pay extra for a rain guard above the window as he smokes, and also a centre storage compartment.

Owned this car since since 2008, got it new as my company car with an ipod connector, bose speaker upgrade and an arm rest (its an Audi so not much comes as standard!). I went for the highest engine spec as I love it when the turbo kicks in... It certainly is responsive and you tend not to realise how fast you are going!
My only and biggest gripe with this car is the so called Government introduced 'partical filter'. My brand new Audi broke down in the first 3 wks of owning it... This filter got blocked due to town driving. I only found out through the RAC that this was a common issue with this model and many owners living in London had faced the same issue...Audi never once mentioned this throughout the buying process! In summary this engine was built for motorway driving so anyone wanting it for simple town driving should go for the 140 or another car altogether. The partical filter is meant to be better for the environment, this is total rubbish as everytime the light appears on the dash board you have to drive the car at 2000rpm for 20mins...This means taking it for a random drive or driving in a lower gear, this simply wastes diesel and adds to pollution!!!!
Back to the car, apart from the above I cannot fault it, big boot, essential as we have a 2yr old. Also dont bother with the ipod dock as its a pain in rear to set up as you have to create 6 new playlists especially for the car, its not as simply as plug and play, I would recommend to just plug it through the Aux connection.Arm rest is essential if driving on a long journey, however if you want to use the built in 1 cup holder then you cannot uses the armrest as its situated under it.
Great car but if I was buying my own car with my own cash I probably wouldn't buy an Audi as its over priced, this model isn't fuel efficient either...
Really enjoy the Turbo boost. You have to appreciate the solid build quality which adds to the weight of the car. Bose sound system upgrade is great and really adds to the quality. Lovely big boot. Sport model has sports suspension so it handles great. Great armrest.
Lose the partical filter it seriously doesnt work and simply wastes fuel. Integrate the ipod connector to the entertainment system so track names are displayed. Armrest should be fitted as standard. More options of alloys to choose from and lowered suspension on the sport model. Improve the blind spots on the front pillars as these are super wide!
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
