120d 5DR HATCH 2.0 SE AUTO
Love the style of the body. Brilliant car, fast, quite small in back seats, recently not been as happy the snow caused this car major problems. Couldnt get the car to do anything even on the tiniest amount of snow covering. It would'nt go at all just carried on sliding, even though I'd braked, really scary. On motorway brilliant for picking up speed for overtaking and being BMW the extras are there, you really feel like its a good solid car.
Body style, I love the body shape. From the front of this car it also looks perfect. Speed picks up brilliant for manouvering and overtaking its amazing...love it. The extas on my car make me feel special showing off with my automatic headlights, self adjusting, my head light washers, heated seats, driver and passenger can have different tempratures at there side of the car. Truly amazing. I love it.
Back seat been sporty, baby seats dont sit flat as the seat curves up at ends, maybe a flatter seat wouldnt throw you into middle of car and make the back of car seem bit bigger. Also when it snows, is not good and everyone I spoken to with a BMW says the same, my car never moved for 3 weeks too scared to go out in it. We took it out one day the snow fell, it took me 3 hours to grit all our road to get my precious car home. Also the rear windscreen washer bottle clogs up and has to be stripped down to put new filters in.

What can I say, I bought a brand new BMW, just a 1 series, 120i in white - Its an 09 plate and I have had it since October. It is an wonderful car to drive, quite nippy and it also looks the part too. It is not great with diesel, but a car for looks and quality it is, it feels as though its built to last.
Electric windows, heated seats, satelite navigational system is quality. I also love the auto start and stop button for economy when sat in traffic.
Make them less expensive everything with my car was an additional feature this proved quite expensive and nearly swayed me away - Im glad I didnt though.

Reliable, economical, cheap to run £35/year road tax...for a BMW what else do you need??
Very well built, sports seats as standard help and I love the air pockets on the side...give you that extra comfort when going around corners. Excellent through the gears and very nippy when you want it to be. Excellent economy on the motorway as well as around the city. Te stop start feature is great, the engine switched off when stationary thus not using any fuel, but starts back up again when you touch the clutch.
Stop start - stops when stationary thus using less fuel starts immeadiately when you touch the clutch.
Nothing really...very sound car all round although could bo with a bit more boot space and a couple of extra features as standard.

I bought my BMW 1 Series M Sport a month ago and I love it! The fuel economy is great and its a really excellent drive. It's so sporty with a fast engine but fuel economy is great. It's diesel but is very quiet :-)
I love the fact that its a 2 litre car but the tax is only £35 per year. Yes just £35! Can you believe it?!?!
Hmm I'm not sure what I would improve apart from perhaps cup holders. There are no cup holders on this sporty car. I had cup holders on my old BMW 1 series!

Great car, super handling, refinement, economy and residuals. Great looking IMO. Get rid of the runflats ASAP they ruin the ride! Not a class leader though, especially on space. Servicing costs are reasonable.
The looks are great, especially if you get the M-Sport. Handling is a class leader, very good fuel economy.
Non-runflat option, more features as standard (although I can't see it happening with BMW's marketing strategy).

I bought a 2004 54 plate in Feb 2009 and the car has been superb. It was bought from a BMW dealer, the sales service was second to none but the service department has been horrendous.....anyway back to the car. Bought it as we had a baby and its plenty big enough. We get around 50mpg on the motorway and around 36mpg in the city. It is very responsive and drives superbly. Only drawback is the servicing - BMW will say there service schedule will save you money but it DOES NOT. My car has cost £460 in serviing since Feb luckly it came with a service pack! Overall brilliant car!
The economy is obviously great! The SE comes with exterior light package, climate control, elec everything and ours has the 16" sports alloys. Its is also fantastic to drive!
The servicing! £350 for an oil service!!!!!!!!!!! The car could also do with better reverse sensors a ours have stopped working for the 3rd time.

It has been more than two years since I have been driving the Black BMW 1 series hatchback. The build is good although I feel the A3 just slightly edges it, however the A3 is a slightly a bigger hatchback and is smaller inside than a Golf or Focus and the space is limited in the rear. It is has excellent rear-wheel drive handling. This is a diesel 120d SE car which has excellent economy. It looks great on the outside; however the simple interior is a let down, but is not awful. Seats stain very easily, plastics are inferior to other BMW models The boot is reasonably sized too and comparable with other hatches of this size.
Disappointingly has no cup holder, no leather steering wheel, and no arm rest. The car pulls very well & overtakes smoothly on all roads. I find the auto stop start is a good feature; the engine is brilliant you can't really tell it's a diesel from inside as it's so quiet when accelerating that goes to 60mph in just over 8 seconds. All in all a very good quality car with an excellent drive and cheap running costs £35 tax, I certainly recommend it.
Has to be the economy of this diesel you cannot tell, that it is a diesel due to it being quiet. It is possibly the best compromise between speed and fuel consumption of any car. Fuel consumption is good on a run. It's really comfortable on the motorway. Tyres last about 25,000 miles. The cornering and handling of the car is sublime. The exterior also looks fab, and if you have a small family or young and free, it really works well for both. The car has a practical side as well as a sport side. Overall more advantages then disadvantages.
Improvements would be the boot and rear space are not as good as most rivals, make more room. When the climate control goes on, the cheap plastics click when they expand. The interior and upholstery can definitely do with an improvement and the seats easily stain. This car needs a cup holder and arm rest and leather steering wheel and overall better quality interior.
