Review

Bought new in silver. Nice looking car, air con, electric windows and usual modern refinements. A good sized family car, plenty of leg room, good sized boot with handy storage box. Bit heavy on petrol which you can monitor on electronic dashboard. CD radio

Favourite Features

The size inside and out, plenty of legroom. Big boot, storage box, Hidden storage in back of car look of the car, air conditioning, electric windows and door mirrors. Good cd radio, nice sound

Suggested Improvements

Better economy, a proper drink holder in the front of the car, not just in glove compartment. The car being a bit higher would be great. Cheaper price for car.

Citroen Picasso 1.8 Exclusive

Review by Chris Blanning on 21/6/2010

Review

This car has got such a smooth drive, it has got plenty of space for a small family. The boot space is great if you do a monthly shop, or if you need to take junk to your local tip... so regardless of your circumstances this is a perfect car for all those that like big things in little packages... and just because it is big it costs no more than running a small car.

Favourite Features

My fav features includes the under floor storage space, air con, power steering, cheap tax and cheap to run and the digital display which is clear even when the sun is shining on it.

Suggested Improvements

I cant think of any improvements to me this is the perfect car in every possible aspect... if they could make a hybrid version that would just do it for me.

A really fun car to ride

Review by Bloston on 4/5/2010

Review

This car is fun to drive and is very big and has a lot of space with five compartments, three at the front and 2 hatches like at the back and also safe, this car also has foldable seats to suite the passengers, with comfort throughout your journey.

Favourite Features

Music (cd player, fm), this car also has like a table at the back of the seat for passengers at the back to eat or drink.

Suggested Improvements

This car could do with more airbags near the drive and airbags for the passengers at the back, this car could also do with a dvd player.

Citroen Zsara Picasso 1.6 petrol 03 plate

Review by Beverley Knott on 3/5/2010

Review

This car is fantastic! A smooth drive, easy to handle, easy to park even though it's a bigger car than I was used to. Great on fuel especially long distance for holidays, loads of space and a higher driving position makes it very comfortable to drive and also getting in and out....the kids love it, best car we've ever had!

Favourite Features

Clear large dashboard display, easy to navigate the radio with steering column stick, loads of head room and space within the car, large glovebox and lovely arm rests on both front seats which gives me a feeling of luxury whilst driving and the kids are always asking to sit in the front! Rear cigarette lighter socket so the kids can recharge the ds/psp/dvd players on the motorway, hide away pockets in the floor in front of the rear seats, again great for hiding all the kids tech stuff! Brilliant under seat drivers side drawer, great for holding the sat nav charger, purse and sweets. Loads of pockets/cup holders. Middle rear seat folds down to a table with drinks holders built in. Trays behind front seats with drinks holders, fab for the kids mcdonalds lol. Loads of boot space including a built in fold away trolley, again more pockets in the sides of the boot to hide things away. Under the bonnet it's easy to check washer fluid/oil etc all easily accessible and straightforward, simple for ladies like me who are not so keen on car maintenance lol. I could rave about it all day, basically the perfect family size, economical and fun to drive car.

Suggested Improvements

The only thing I would like on my car is for the side mirrors to be able to move so I could fold them in. I have had them clipped a few times whilst in the supermarket carpark and the black plastic casing has been broken and as the mirrors are electric and heated they cost £45 approx to replace so if I could fold them in it would make me happier but apart from that the car to me is faultless. The kids and I absolutely love it!

Reliable but less than impressive build quality

Review

The Picasso is a fairly well designed car. It has everything that I would expect in a people carrier including the adjustable seat positions and that elevated ride height. I like the fact that the gear lever is mounted on the dash, making the cabin have a lot more space for my gadgets etc without a 'hump' in the middle. The back seats are not very comfortable however and after owning the vehicle for a few years now, all sort of rattles and squeaks are showing up. The clutch pedal squalks when it is pressed and the are a few rattles that I just cannot pinpoint as to where they are coming from. Reliability is great on the Picasso, having no work needed other than it's regular servicing and an undertray that needed fixing back on after it became loose once. A very good all round car but I wish the build quality was better to get rid of those rattles!

Favourite Features

The dash mounted gear lever is great, giving you more room in the cabin for other items such as ipods etc. The dash mounted speedometer is very clear for all to see in the car how fast you are going. The heating system is good, taking only a couple of minutes to warm up fully. This car has cheap parts and servicing. The seats at the front have arm rests which is a nice touch on longer journeys.

Suggested Improvements

The build quality needs improving but I suppose this is typical of French cars. The cabin is basic looking but functional. It does not inspire much at all. In strong daylight, the centre console is a bit dark, sometimes I cannot see the speed I am going. The rear seats are very uncomfortable on long journeys. There are no electric windows in the rear which is poor and the seatbelts in the back are very hard to locate into their clips. The doors feel and sound like a van.

Citroen Xsara Picasso (2007)

Review by Peter Hawkins on 27/4/2010

Review

I bought this second hand from a car 'supermarket' and have enjoyed driving it. I got it in 2008 and it had to be registered as it was from Ireland.

The ride and seats are both comfortable and it has just enough features for me, my favourites being air con and cruise control.

I have had very few problems with it, apart from a rear window being shattered by a stone thrown up by a passing vehicle, and then later the windscreen had a large crack, again from a stone.

There are lots of storage places in the car which is useful for hiding away bits and pieces.

All together I would say this is an ideal vehicle for a couple or small family who are not looking for racing car performance.

Favourite Features

Air conditioning, cruise control (makes long journeys much more comfortable), boot space, trip computer (you can keep an eye on fuel economy, which is getting more important as prices rise), comfortable seating, easy fold down of rear seats.

Suggested Improvements

Turning circle is quite large. Engine is old technology, hence not fantastic fuel economy (I average around 37 mpg). Radio / CD system could be more up to date. Would be nice to have cold air as well as heated air option.

PICASSO Black

Review by Helen King on 12/1/2010

Review

A great family workhorse, we love our Picasso, its massive inside and has lots of innovative storage compartments, its a tidy car very economical and it also looks the part, we have had ours since new in 2004 and wont be changing for a while yet. Its very reliable and cheap to run.

Favourite Features

Electric Windows, Sat Nav, Gear stick on the dashboard, the actual space inside as everything fits in it, the kids trays for them to put stuff on.

Suggested Improvements

The Desire badge is a bit bland and not great looking, also the engine size I opted for is too small. The trays on the backs of the seats are quite weak.

Awesome runner!

Review

The Picasso is by all means not a cheap car to pick up, its very expensive brand new and even second hand its not cheap. However by picking this car up you can save money on the road tax plus the fuel economy on the car is not bad either.

Also you are getting a very reliable car which on the road is a fantastic runner. I have been to so many different places with this car and had not even a minor problem at all. The petrol is cheap on the car and saves me a lot of money.

Last week with the snow happening I managed to get to work on time thanks to the car. It warms up well and very quick plus on the bad roads it stills runs fine with no problems at all so this car is just amazing to have in the bad weather to.

The style of the car would be loved by so many people because the style is fantastic. The seats in the car are very nice and comfortable sometimes I feel like sleeping in the car thats now nice the seats are.

Favourite Features

Any one who buys a expensive car expects quality and this is what this car does. I really like it because it runs on the road really well is my main reason. Its also cheap for me on the insurance plus the road tax every year is not much for me compared to my previous cars owned.

The speed of the car on the motorway is very good plus the steering wheel is so easy to control. The car also has got a air conditioner and a strong heating system that always works well so them are the best points about the car I like.

Suggested Improvements

There is one improvement that could have helped the car and that is the seat belts! I have trouble putting mine back all the time and it seems like they always get stuck for some reason at the back. Also the boot of the car is too big they could have made a little bit smaller.

Just them two minor problems with the car but everything else is perfect. This car for me is perfect as it and I can not think of having another car expect this one!

Good overall car

Review

I have had this car now for a good three years. I have never had any major issues at all. The one bug bear I have is that the breaks always squeak!!!! This can get very annoying and even after having both the discs and pads changed it still happens.I also had the hydraulic clutch valve break on me which caused the "bite" position to change all time and make the car un-drivable.

Favourite Features

There is plenty of room throughout. The boot space is fantastic, no problem fitting a buggy and a weeks shopping in there. When the seats are down you can fit a horse in the back! (Well don't quote me on this but it does have a LOT of room in there). It also comes with very handy storage spaces behind each of the front seats. This is great for hiding those expensive portable DVD players etc when you nip into the service station as the floor mats cover the door so unless you know they are there you cant see them.

Suggested Improvements

It could do with some more basic extras like cruise control, automatic lights and wipers but these do come in the executive model. The floor heating on the drivers side could do with improving. In the winter when your toes are falling off because they are that cold, you could really do with 30C blowing at them but it takes a good 15-20 Min before it starts to produce any noticeable heat down there. The general heat does warm up very quickly though.

Good all round MPV

Review

For the price, this car is great. 5 seats or take the back seats out and use as a van! Stick your bike in the back. One of the best cars I've owned. Good looking, well built and all round great car for an active family. Have a dog? Stick em in the back!

Favourite Features

Multipurpose all rounder.

Suggested Improvements

Get rid of the digital display! Mine always went wrong and give me loads of errors. I always buy cars with analogue displays now after this nightmare.
