A really comfy ride with good space for our family of 5. Came complete with in car DVD player which the kids love - although 3 of them fight over the 2 headsets!! Has extra power socket in the boot which is really useful. Rear seat is split into 3 so really versatile for loading - don't like the interior colour though - pale fawn - not ideal with three kids! Rides really high on the road so a good view all round, and front seat are height adjustable too.
Auto parking break took a bit of getting used to - but gives extra CD/key storage etc in centre console.
Parking sensors are a definite advantage - will miss them if not on next vehicle! Only downside is the low profile alloy wheels - we go through tyres like nobody's business and have even had to have two new front wheels! Not good news on country roads - I tell you!
Love the high riding position and height adjustable front seats. The in car DVD payer is excellent for kids - but 2 headsets is just not enough! (They are wireless though - a real bonus).
Get rid of the low profile alloy wheels and replace them with something sensible & usable! Would avoid this car in future unless they change them - just too expensive on wheels/tyres.

This Focus is a very good ideal family car for those with young children, I had 2 yr twin boys and a 4 yr old daughter in the back and they all had plenty of space and enough room for me to reach to put their belts on without getting stressed. I had a double buggy and it also fitted a single buggy aswell as a big weekly shop in the boot. It drove very nice and was quiet. Only downer about the car is within a year of my purchase I had to replace the alternator and the battery, the controller for the volume on the stereo was tempermental and sometimes worked and other times did not. Because its an english car its ideal, but not for town driving, I did approx 60-100 miles per week and I used about £20-25 worth of fuel a week on less than 100 miles, so town driving is a no-no if you buy such a big engine, probably the same with any car really. I then sold the car and purchased a smaller one, however sometimes I do wish that my car I now have, had the boot the size of the Focus!
Fav features are probably the huge amount of space that the car gives with a family of 5 in, also the secret compartments that are underneath the front seats in the back foot well, and also the little compartment on the dash board, ideal to hide things.
Alot of things could do with being improved, such as the quality of the parts, they didn't seem to last enough time for me, it could just be down to my luck. Improvements also include stereo as I had problems with turning the volume up/down

Excellent car. Great space & storage. We liked my car that much my husband has just got one for himself! Go for the 2.0 tlr diesel if you can get hold of one. Cheaper on the tax & very efficient on fuel consumption.
Love the extra head room due to the height of the car. Great for getting little ones out the back seats. Comfortable to drive & will definately be replacing it with a newer model when I'm due to change my car next year.
Only draw back I find is there is a blind spot on the front drivers side near the door frame. Hope that makes sense!

I love this vehicle! Plenty of room and back seats(3) fold down individually with 1 click of a button. Very economical and reliable. Its very user friendly and I can't think of a better car to travel around in with a big dog and still have plenty of space available.
Boot space! Plenty of room for a big dog to stand without obstructing the rear view mirror. This is a great feature as most cars mirrors are blocked in this way.
To include a sunroof in all models, and electric windows and seperate car mats. The sunroof is an optional extra as well as, the electric windows but it would be great if they were included anyway. The mats are not provided for anywhere in the car which is a real bad thing.

We was impressed when first shown the C-Max with it's nice looks, tinted windows (back passenger and rear), heated front window which works within seconds even on real bad ice. The driving is good and handles well, and is comfortable. The controls for the normal functions are on the steering wheel but also are some for the radio/cd player so you dont have to take your hand off the wheel to do things like change the sound. Has many hiding places for items you dont want to be seen or carry around with you when not in car, only problem with ours is that is the gear stick doesn't like to go into reverse without a fight. Looking to up grade next year and first place is Ford to see the new version.
Heated front window which works well and unlike others you dont see the lines within the window. Many hiding places for items you dont want on show. Drivers heat is adjustable up and down with ease, all round visability is good. Comfortable drive. Sun glass holder over drivers head so never loose glasses.
Not sure about this, as know a new version is due soon so would like to see what ford have done to this first to see if then can think of anything. Maybe remove the arm rest on drivers side as we have never really used and when did it got in way or gears and hand brake.

Does what it says on the tin. Good spec & sized family MPV that's light on fuel and on road tax. Also a surprisngly good drive. What else do you need? Like most Ford's they are very common but thats because they do the job well.
Nice looking, interior looks like its based on the Audi's design. 50MPG +, resonable space, good torque for a 1.6 Diesel, Tax only £120 p/year.
The single one thing that annoys me the most is that the car beeps at you for almost anything (a high pitched loud beep which gives the impression the car is about to self-destruct). Temperature, seat belt, lights, keys, boot, doors etc etc. Yes I know its cold outside I've just scrapped the ice off the windscreen...thanks C-Max :)

I got this car because of the space it offers, and because of the features for children. The boot is really big, probably similar to that in an estate, so there is plenty of room for buggies etc (as well as my large dog). There are lots of under-floor storage compartments etc, including a large compartment in the dash and very big glove box.
In terms of handling the car is quite good and although it is a bit slow to start with once you are going it is quite a nippy car. Drives nicely and good breaks etc. However you do have to be careful on the motorways as you can really feel the wind in it if its bad, and dont go round bends too fast as it feels like it could tip (although Im sure thats just my driving!!). I have had a couple of faults with the engine, I can't remember what the problems were now though as it is still under warranty but it was with Ford Gates for 2 & a half days. Overall Im quite pleased with the car, although now wish I had got a diesel as I am doing a lot more miles than I expected. Think the car does approx 35 mpg (£55 in the tank will see me about 380-400 miles).
Flip away kiddy mirror - this is great but I do struggle to see my son clearly if he is sitting on passenger side in rear. Love all the under floor compartments etc - great storage. In the back its great for kids - fold out food/drink tables and the built in sun shades are fantastic as supposed to the stick on ones that you get. Speakers are suprisingly good too.
MP3 player connection would be nice - although I believe these are extras you get with the Titanium model. The childrens mirror could be improved so the vision is better - I find myself turning around to check on my son as the view in the mirror isnt great.

Another reliable car brought to us by Ford. Great looking car and looks alot smaller than what it is. The car is a great drive and makes you feel well in control whilst driving. The first thing you notice about the C-Max is you more walk into it than climb in, making it feel more like getting into a van. The dash is well laid out and all the instruments are easy to read. The onboard computer system is easy to use and navigate using the stalk at the wheel. There is a warning system for the temp outside, glowing yellow when below 4deg and turning red when below 2. In the back there is loads of room for 3 people, seats can be removed to make a larger luggage compartment than just folding them down, and access from the 2 rear doors is great.
Removable rear seats, stereo has great sound from a factory fitted stereo and also has a aux in on the center console to connect your mp3 player, dash layout, traction control system, seats are comfortable even on longer drives. Large mirror above the rear view mirror to keep an eye on the children in the back.
Being 6'2" the rear mirror is hard to position to get a good view out the rear window. The drivers arm rest is annoying when putting on the seat belt.

Suspention is really bad. Bought this car because I thought it was a spacious comfortable family car, but I hate it. You feel every bump in the road. There is plenty of space if you have a few kids, plenty of room for scooters and skates in the boot.
Kids like the tables and cup holders in the back. Plenty of leg room, great sized boot. Integrated window shades in back.
Better suspention because you fell every bump and lump on the road. Lumber support on front passenger seat as well as drivers.

I think this car is excellent has plenty of space, I have 2 children and there is a lot of space in the back. The boot is large it fits 2 large pushchairs. I love the compartments in the floor that you can keep all your items out of sight and the middle chair in the back pulls down to make a table. this car is a great growing family car, we have just had ours for 1 yr and would not get any other car.
My favourite features are the space of the car and the miles per gallon, the way the middle seat pulls down to make a table and the compartments in the floor are great for the cds and dvds.
I would say there is not much to improve with this car other then maybe the sounds system is poor but it does the job.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
