I love how the KA looks. Mine has got body coloured bumpers so hasn't got those awful black ones that go grey after you have had a few years. It's a bit annoying only having two seats in the back, but that doesn't cause too many problems! The only problems that I have ever really had with this car (it is an 02 plate) is that it has needed to have welding done both on both occasions that I have have I taken it for it's MOT - and I have only had it 2 years myself!
The way it looks. Mine is a lovely colour too, kind of an aqua greeny blue - hard to explain! There is quite a lot of room in the boot for a small car as well, we manage to get in two people, 2 small suitcases, 2 mini radiators and a boot full of 4 days worth of food and drink etc when we go on long weekend breaks!
I would love an extra seat belt / seat space in the back. Also, for it not to rust as much as it does :( Also, the rear windows are on a hinge rather than being electronic if that makes sense?

This was my first car, its suprisingly spacious inside and has all the modern features of a new car. You can comfortably fit four or five people in the car, sadly the back of the car isnt as roomy but that also depends on how far back the front seats are put. I found this to be not only cheap on insurance but also the petrol lasts for a suprisingly long time, £30 pounds lasted me ages. I found the car goes rather slow with more than three people in the car, but I rarely go fast anyway.
I hadnt had any problems with the car and always started well first time even in winter. Although the battery was flat once after only a short time of listening to the radio but I think this was a one off.
As for the design the car is fashionable and smart looking inside and out but its also easy to mod the car, if you so wish and many places to buy seat covers etc, as its a popular style car, so easy to buy parts also if needed. The favourite part about this car for me was not only that its extremly easy to run & repair but mostly its very easy to park and manouevure with.
The feature I found most useful was that this car has power steering, as I'd learnt in a car with power steering. The anti lock brakes were very useful in bad conditions also. On the safety side this car has a driver's airbag, which is important if your looking for safety factors, as well as central locking. It also has an immobiliser which is obviously handy and opening rear windows at the sides on a nice sunny day & electric windows in the front of the car. This version has a cd player which is a bonus for a first car as you can also connect an ipod if you wish.
Although very economical and all the benifits of the car, I did find as many Ka owners are aware of, is the dreaded rust. This car is a rust magnet underneath, but as long as you remember prevention you shall be fine.
For those who like to go over 70mph the car really does seem to struggle, so if your likely to go fast or very long journeys then this car maybe wont be the best for you. I didnt like the fact that the back windows only open very slightly but only because with my fear of crashing and unable to escape out the windows, also on a very hot day it really does get quiet stuffy in the back.

I've had my Ka for just over two years now and still love it. It's great for driving around town and parking is so easy due to it's size. It is also quite speedy even though it only has 1.3 engine. Even though petrol keeps going up it is still quite cheap to run.
- Compact size.
- Cheap to run.
- Quirky style.
Overall it's the perfect car to drive round town and cheaper to run than other cars.
Put the spare wheel in the boot not under the car because I don't know how to get to it! I know it is a small car but it would be nice to have more leg room in the backseat and a bigger boot.

This car was cheap at £5000 with 4000 miles on it when I got it. I've had it 6 years now so know it well! It has cost me a lot of money in repairs and it has quite a bit of rust on it, which these cars seem prone to. But it is small, quite nippy and does the job.
Being small, it is easy to park. It can also be quite nippy when pulling out of junctions or on roundabouts. As it is a small car, it is good that the back seats fold down to allow you more space.
Could do with a slightly wider boot. I had to put my pushchair on the back seat as the boot wasn't wide enough.

The Ford Ka is a sophisticated, fine and chic car. While it has a similar round shape to the Ford Focus, it has the feels of a big, comfortable car on the motorway. Although as a previous owner of a Focus, this car is far superior in every department in refinement and quality. It has a very economical engine, which makes it cheap to run. The interior is stylish and well thought out, plus theres plenty of space for passengers. While its certainly an improvement compared to the Ford Focus, it is still lacking in some areas - a poor gearbox being the main problem
I would have to say that my favourite part of the car is the interior. As I have previously stated, it is well designed and very well thought out.
As stated in the original review, the car still has a few flaws. A stiff gearbox can be a huge problem especially for those who are new to driving. Also the boot is tiny.

Had the car for about a year and a half now never had any problems with it needed to take it to the garage only once because the exhaust was rattling! But parts seemed cheap and easy, very reliable and works out good milliage to the gallon, brilliant first car highly recommended!
Semi-auto, power steering electric windows cd player, boot space is huge considering size, looks smart and can part easily.
Interior could use jazzing up, cd player that came was bit basic and dashboard is basic style, and seats do not recline very far so not great for those of us with longer legs.

This car is small but huge inside & easily fits 4 adults in the car. As a tall person 6'5" there is loads of leg space for the driver. In fact I can't drive many similar sized cars because of the driver leg room.
Interior space, easy to park, cheap to run, cheap insurance & cheaper road tax, cd player, sporty and very responsive.
The standard of the interior could be improved but this is a cheap car & I guess you get what you pay for.

If you are looking for a reliable little run around on a budget then this car is for you. We all use it in my family including my 6'4'' father. Its easy to park as its light its quite nippy, fits four and is cheap to run.
I like the design as it makes it quirky and its like a bubble, Air con is always a must! The Size of the Car is great for Parking. The seats are nice and wrap around you.
The only improvement I think would be for a bigger glove compartment. Or improve by upgrading to a sport or streetka both are very fun to drive and the leather seats are great.

I have had this car for nearly 2 years now and by far the best car I have had. Great price, cheap on petrol and tax, also for me insurance all the best things about the car I think. Roomy enough, I also car fit my car seat in the back for my child. Very warm in the winter would definitely recommend.
It's a small car but with a lot of life. Perfect car all in all. Warm in winter, I love the seats that I can reach the pedals very good. The car's small so you can nip in the gaps on parking bays excellent car.
I would suggest that the boot was a little bit bigger as it's quite a tricky thing to find a pram which will fit in the boot as I have had to have it leaning agaisnt the seat in the back.

The KA has been going for years now and they've just altered the design, but the mark 1 is ideal, you can't go wrong! I got mine in March for an excellent price and haven't looked back. Great petrol consumption, tiny, qwirky, like a go kart. I should have got 1 years ago!
My favourite features are the compactness, qwirky design, great gas consumption, modern dashboard, nice clock! As well as cheap tyres (when u need them), bright headlights, and pretty fast off the mark!
Bigger petrol tank, more colours available, possible option for a gas KA so they become even cheaper! AUX IN on standard models for ipod / mp3 player!
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
