HAT 2.0i VTEC TYPE R GT
The Honda Civic Type R was a replacement for my Corsa C Sri and while the Corsa Sri certainly isnt slow, I was supprised at the qualty of the Type R. Inside the car, the engine noise is almost none existent when driving at normal conditions but the moment you put your foot down it has the growl that is enough to reduce anyone to childish giggles. An absolutley fantastic car, would recommend to anyone and you get a lot of car for your money.
As well as the Vtec which kicks in at about 6k revs and feels like you have gone into warp speed, my other favourie things about this car are the exceptional ride comfort - even though the car has sport suspension and low profile tyres, yes the ride is firmer as you would expect form a poerformance car but it is by no means boneshaker. The best feature of all has to be the fun factor 10/10! It makes you want to go on a driving holiday. A fantastic car.
There are not many things at all that I would change with this car, the only bad thing is that when the mornings start to get cooler the metal gear knob is like a lump of ice when you try and drive in the morning. It would be good if it had some form of built in heater or warmer.
HAT 2.0i VTEC TYPE R GT
Bought my Type R about a year and a half ago. Loved it and loved it more for the first 3 months but that's when a few niggles became apparent, but nothing to major. Firstly this car is, without a doubt, the funnest car I've ever owned. For the engine size it's quick and the handling is pretty good. Also love the lines and shape of the body. The main niggle is that the window (apparently on all new shape Type R's) rattles quite loudly if it's open down to about 8-10 inches. Had a big thing with Honda and it was, after 3 months fighting with them, temporarily fixed. Apart from a few other silly niggles which u'd get with most new cars, it's superb.
Main fav's are the v-tech engine when it kicks in at 5.5k rpm and the actual look of the car. Also great handling around corners etc, especially for the price of the car.
Sort window out, better qualtiy stereo, ipod connectivity as standard, try and soften suspension slightly.
HAT 2.0i VTEC TYPE R C/W
I find the best thing about my car is its comfortable to drive, it has power and looks amazing. It has all the extra features of air conditioning, full electrics and abs.
The interior is a little boring, I would have expected it to have bit more going for it but the exterior does make up for it as is oozes style.
I have never had a car that is as smooth as this on the road and would definitely recommend one!
I think the way the car drives is the best for me, it has the power when pulling off and getting to the desired speed quickly. Again as previously said I think the style of the car is the most imprtant.
One down fall for me on the car, is with it being a 3 door the only seat that moves forward is the passenger seat and I think it should have been designed for drivers sear to also. I also think you should have the choice to open the rear windows. Overall though still positive.
HAT 1.4i VTEC TYPE S
I have been a big fan of Japanese cars for years in particular the Civic range. Solely for the fact you buy reliability, they hardly go wrong, the suspension is spot on and iIhave never come across a better power steering than these Civics. Another plus point has to be how economical they are on petrol all in all a top car.
I would recommend this to all people looking for a cheap to run car that is also reliable no need to look any further than the Civics. They will last you for ever and are cheap compared to other vehicles to put right if they do go wrong which I must say is very rare. Its fair to say I would recommend a Civic for anyone looking for a cheap and reliable car to run. They are definitely value for money and will last you for years without you spending loads to maintain them.
There ar many top features already mentioned like the power steering for me no company does it better than Japanese cars. The heated seats are spot on and heat usually with in 8 Min's very good for the cold months in UK. The air conditioning is fantastic and comes into its own during the summer and also is very economical. CD changer is a bonus and comes in handy for all those fantastic tracks.
The reliability of these cars is fantastic and they hardly go wrong although regular service would be recommended to make sure your Honda is in prime condition. Another plus would have to be they are very good on petrol.
There are a view improvements that could be made to the car ie a better Car Nav system would be ideal. A bigger engine in the range would also be good for people that like allot more power in performance. I would also recommend more choice of colours to have as they can be very limited like most company's. Also more options with extra that you can add to the car would be beneficial for those that would like something extra as customer to customer will vary. I would also suggest an improvement on the basic seats and more room in the boot as they can be small at times and difficult to put all your shopping in.
One last improvement I would like to see would be a smoother gear box option given as the current ones seem to have a close ratio.
HAT 2.0i VTEC TYPE R GT SN/HFT
I purchased the Type R last year and have been impressed with the value for money it has offered.
After driving the Golf GTi and this, the Civic was much more poised and exciting, with stunning looks.
The i-VTEC enging is sublime and the noise it makes at 6500rpm still sounds awesome! The styling is really different and stands out. Honda dealerships have been excellent, my second honda now.
The ride is pretty hard and the wing mirrors dont automatically fold when ignition is removed. Also the seat doesnt return to its previous position when someone climbs in the back.
HAT 2.0i VTEC TYPE R GT
I previously owned a VTEC Honda Civic and after months of over-time shifts and zero social life I upgraded to the Type-R. The car feels well made and the engine is simply masterclass...it purrs and is just absolutely amazing to listen to! The car feels quick up to 6000rpm but when the cam kicks in it can be pretty scary how the speed takes over! The steering is extremely quick, sometimes too quick to guide you around the corners but overall an excellent all-round car. My only complaints are that the driver's seat has no memory so when it is moved you have to set your position again (but I believe this is the same with the 1st geenration type R?), the rear view visibility is a little poor due to the spoiler obscuring your line of view. The comfort in the car is not all that...you feel every little bump in the road and the full lock is not that great either so making a 3-point turn turns into a 5-point turn! But other than that I am sure I will keep this car for a few years as it gives me an amazing thrill each time I drive it...and as a girl its even more exciting when onlookers look in awe! A big round of applause to Honda...Well done!!!!
Superb free-spinning engine, feels like the stripped-out racer it is, slick gearshift. Stunning alloy wheels, in car entertainment and satellite navigation system.
Better full lock on the steering, the handling and ride (comfort) is not quite as sorted as main rivals.
HAT 1.4i VTEC TYPE S
I have had this car since 10 years now and its been one heck of a good journey. The only bad problems I have had with the car is the problem with the speed once you got too fast. The car does go a little too fast when you drive too fast but apart from that the car is fine.
The quality of the car from the inside is very good with some awesome features. The car has a nice look and the seats are comfortable.
Over the years a minor problem has been for me the heating has not always worked on time. This has been the only issue everything else has always been fine for me. I like the quality of the car as its good and always runs well for me.
In the cold weather the car has never gave me any troubles at all! Its just one of the best cars you can get because of the quality.
Like I mentioned this car has been good for me, my best parts has been the car working well in the winter. It has never let me down in the winter at all, the car has warmed up well with no problems at all.
I also like the speed of the car it goes fast quickly and the design of the car is also very good. I can say the cars features are very positive!
Improvements could maybe happen on the speed sometimes I press the gas button and the car flies with the speed. The other thing is the amount of times you have to repair some problems. One problem has been the engine and the brakes for me having to get them repaired.
Them are the only two concerns with the car but apart from that everything else has been fine for me!
HAT 1.8i VTEC TYPE S GT
I own a red 3 door Honda Civic GT. This car is great. It is an automatic and while it is a little slow on pull off once it gets going it is fantastic. I would say it is a car that would be very well suited to a beginner or for someone who wants something simple to get from A to B. The car is very fun to drive and very comfortable. Cheap to fill up and run.
My favourite feature of nearly all Civics is the way they look. I think every part of these cars exteriors and interiors just screams style. Build quality is great, every aspect of the car feels safe and sturdy.
Make them in pink! Make them powerful, give them an extra "oomph". Added extras like DVD players would make the interior much nicer. Updating the dashboard so it looks more modern would be great too.
