I love my car, I love the fact that where people in smaller cars avoid roads that flood, or avoid driving in bad weather, out I go each and every morning start it up first time, leave to warm up, and off we go. Never fails.
Love the heated electric rear window. Love the walnut interior. Love the side step to add ease to getting in and out.
Wing mirrors that fold in. Many many times I've had to buy replacements, as people tend to clip them a lot. And they aren't very cheap.

We purchased our Freelander 2 primarily as a car suitable to tow our caravan which is one of the heavier type. It does an excellent job and we cannot fault it. The handling is very good and it has always done what we have asked of it.
We find the Freelander 2 very spacious and comfortably seats 4 adults and a child on long journeys. There is a good sized boot too which is an improvement on the old Freelander models.
We could say 'none' but if anything it would be helpful to have a 12v socket in the boot - there is one in the rear of the car so we run a wire through to our cool box which we keep in the boot.

I previously owned a Freelander 1 and was pleased with it, but had a few criticisms, however the Freelander 2 has addressed all the issues of the original incarnation. There is no wallowing around corners and it is very responsive. It is a pleasure to drive and is extremely simple to change the settings to ice/snow, gravel etc. The stop/start technology is excellent as is the remote which charges from the car - no need for replacement batteries. The shape is very stylish and although large is easy to manoeuvre and park. Land Rover have, as usual, created an exceptional vehicle with off-road capabilities which is also good to drive as a road car.
Stop/start technology is great, no more keys, the automatic lights and self cleaning lights. I love the new shape and the fully adjustable seats. The driving position is comfortable and gives excellent all round visibility. The ncap 5 rating is much better than the original and makes me happier to drive with my son in the car.
More storage and better cup holders and a boot liner as standard. A proper wheel and tyre for the spare rather than a space saver would be welcome.

A lovely car to own. Far better than its sad predecessor. Very comfortable and looks smart. Lots of gadgets and plenty of room. A very comfortable cruiser that can go reasonably off-road. Ideal countryside vehicle with a nice ride height and attracts lots of envious glances.
Automatic gearbox including for off-road. Great sound system. Lots of great features including ipod connectivity. Great ride height and could handle all weather with no problems.
Engine not particularly powerful although consumption/economy acts as though it is powerful. Had fault with seat memory and bluetooth connectivity was poor.

Good turning, the steering is great. The outside of the car is very strong, the dirt doesn't show that much on the car outside. Everything else with the car is to a OK acceptance and the inside of the car is smooth, good coloured and nice.
My favourite feature about the 5Dr 2.2 td4 E gs by far the steering. It is very accurate and is also very good when off road, this come's in handy whenever your out on old roads, allowing a good drive.
One of the main inprovments could be the reliability, since I have had the car it does seem to have problems with the brakes. Maybe im just driving to fast but it seems to fail at the most awkward points.

The Freelander 2 has proved to be a fantastic purchase for me and my family. The solid build, size and comfort levels are great whether driving on the Motorway or on the country lanes.
Although like most SUV's mine rarely goes off-road the reassurance of having the capability to drive through water, not get stuck when parking on a field or happily driving up hills in the snow is excellent.
On-road it handles well, driving and behaving much more like a saloon than a SUV. Fuel consumption is OK as long as you remember it has the aerodynamics of a brick.
High levels of kit as standard (the bluetooth is great). Excellent mode selector and hill descent control for coping with off-road or trick on-road conditions. Love the high seating position, with the back seats that are slightly higher than the front seats.
The boot size is not as great as you might think for a car of this size. The windscreen wiper jets miss the bottom right hand side of the screen when purchased and need adjusting. The on-board computer would benefit from an elapsed driving time readout. The GPS/Sat-nav "time to destination" function is very basic and bases everything on your current average speed. Also the Sat-nav is easily fooled into sending you the long way round.

I would describe this car as great, its very spacious and an easy drive, I would definitely recommend it to families as it has alot of room. The car is very comfortable, but I have experienced some problems with the windows at times, as it can stick, but not too often... overall I think this car is a well designed vehicle.
Easy drive, large boot, I would say the interior is okay, spacious I like that fact, I also somehow like the comfort of the car! Good for long drives.
I would like to say no suggested improvements to be honest, I like this car the way it is... although it is quite expensive to run, and can be a bit bulky at times.

The Freelander 2 provides a comfortable ride over the most difficult terrain while still maintaining the excitement of a four wheel drive. The car is perfect on motorways giving a good view all round due to the vehicle's height. There is a massive amount of room available for a family to travel in comfort and style while maintaining very good levels of leg room and storage. The vehicle is exceptionally comfortable over poor road surfaces and for anyone with joint or back problems it has to be one of the most comfortable vehicles to travel in or indeed drive. Worthy of 10/10 all round.
The heated leather seats provide a superb boost on any winter day. They heat in no time at all and are so useful for warming through. Easily operated they are likely to become a necessity in any vehicle once used!
Perhaps a free boot space liner for carrying muddy items or the dog! As the vehicles are sold with a view to country living/enjoyment it seems fair to expect so help towards 'living the dream' without making your beautiful vehicle dirty! The quality of the accessories sold by Landrover are very high but a freebie is always appreciated and perhaps kindles customer loyalty.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
