Nissan Note Acenta

Review by Stuart Orson on 17/5/2011

Vehicle

1.4 16V Acenta

Review

We chose this car over the Renault Modus, Cmax etc for it's affordability, practicality and looks.

The main impressive features are, sound economy, sturdy build, number of features (compared to the Visia) for example bluetooth and air con. Having driven the car for 11500 miles and taken advantage of the free servicing offer by our local dealer, I can honestly say that the car is very good value for money.

Favourite Features

Bluetooth, aircon, practical space for storage, chilled glovebox, fuel economy, dazzling metallic paint, boot space saving partition

Suggested Improvements

The rear view mirror fell off after 1000 miles (sorted by the dealer on our way back from holiday!), gearbox is a little tricky at times, paint can scratch easily.

Nissan Note

Review by Angie Bayliss on 9/6/2010

Vehicle

5Dr Hat 1.6 16V Tekna Auto

Review

The Nissan Note is a good city car with all round features that suit older and younger users. Nippy but the 1.6 auto could do with a little extra power when climbing hills. Good driving features and lots of gadgets!!!

Favourite Features

Nissan Connect is amazing for using Ipods, bluetooth phones etc. A great system. Boot features and versatility due to compartment panels is good. Privacy glass is great for keeping posessions safer whilst parked.

Suggested Improvements

Button to lock the doors is not easily visible so if in traffic or want to lock doors in emergency, this is not easy fiddling around by the hand brake.
Boot is still rather small, especially if travelling with luggage. Higher drivers seat that is adjustable to match the passenger seat, not just the"bucket" effect

Note Perfect - almost drives itself

Review by Jill Wyatt on 3/5/2010

Vehicle

5Dr Hat 1.6 16V N-Tec Auto

Review

The 1.6 16V N-Tec auto is an ideal family car. This is our first automatic and I wonder why I never got one before...the car virtually drives itself. It is very nippy with great acceleration. This Ntec version has a great sat nav/audio system with bluetooth you can use your phone hands free and it even has the facility to play any music tracks from your phone hands free. Variable cruise control easy to use. Good cabin space for 5 adults. Adequate boot space.

Favourite Features

Automatic gearbox is excellent and very responsive. It really does feel like it is driving itself. This proved very useful in the snow we had earlier this year. NTec sat nav/phone/audio system is the best I have come across with controls on the steering wheel as well.

Suggested Improvements

Door pockets and arm rests need to be higher or adjustable for shorter people...fine if your 6ft or over. Rolls a bit going fast around corners/when windy.

Note on the Note

Review by Carol Lusher on 7/12/2009

Vehicle

5Dr Hat 1.4 16V Acenta

Review

Having owned the Nissan Note for over a year, it is a very spacious comfortable car. I find the Note to be spot on price wise, there are improvements that could be made, but then I would then have to expect to pay more for the car.

Favourite Features

Extremely easy to use bluetooth setup and of course Nissans brilliant short gear shift. The drivers seat can be raised to have a great view over other cars, which for the shorter person, like myself, is refreshing.

Suggested Improvements

Everything seems to creak, especially opening and closing the doors, the car has never had that great door closing sound. Sounds picky - it is there isn't much to fault.

Better than it Looks

Review by Andy Searle on 7/12/2009

Vehicle

5Dr Hat 1.4 16V Acenta

Review

This car does not win any beauty contests but you grow to love it almost as soon as you turn on the ignition. It is comfy but has a strong, robust feel about it - you feel safe. The all round vision is excellent & it is so easy to drive. Definitely not one for those who are looking for a speed machine -but it has good road-holding & is definitely economical.

Favourite Features

Really smooth Nissan gearbox easy to drive. Useful computer information button on steering wheel re temps, fuel consumption & mileage to run forecast. Excellent boot expander system.

Suggested Improvements

Not really keen on the "boxified" appearance & certainly slightly noisier than previous Nissan models. Could change position of petrol flap release lever & bonnet catch lever (They are adjacent to each other- Nearly left garage the other day with bonnet catch undone).

Nissan Note 1.5dciSE

Review by R. Whatmore on 6/12/2009

Vehicle

5Dr Hat 1.5 Dci 86 Visia

Review

I bought this car to use as a work horse to carry my tools and materials around and i have got to say it does this job very well for a small car. I wanted a small car with as big a load space as possible and this car does it better than most cars its size and some cars that are much bigger. Its no sports car but saying that most 1.5 diesels are not that quick off the mark. Ride and handling is okay but does roll a little around corners but its not really a sporty car. Running costs are very good low insurance costs I havent had it serviced yet but I presume this will also be fairly reasonable. Fuel economy is not as good as you might think, it is suggested that mid 50's is achievable as a combined figure but i find it more like 45 mpg and i certainly dont race around. Mechanically it appears to be very sound and i have had no problems whatsoever with it, i dont think you can go wrong with a Nissan as they have a good reliability record. To sum up I would say this car is suitable for small families and is deceptively spacious inside with an added bonus of a back seat that enables you to slide it forward some 6-8 inches which give a larger boot space but still allowing you to carry passengers all be it children.

Favourite Features

It has a slightly higher driving position than most small cars which gives you a good view when driving. The sliding rear seat really comes in handy when carrying shopping etc. The low running costs are very reasonable. Renouned reliability.

Suggested Improvements

The gearbox is very notchy and noisy too and on occasions can feel like its sticks in 1st and 5th gear but this maybe just me not being that used to driving a nissan note. To be honest is my only real gripe with this car. I would perhaps bring out a slighter more powerful diesel model.
