I love this car, I think it is perfect for a new, first time or young driver. My car is pretty old but I have not had any major problems with it. It is small, compact and very simple to drive and to park. As the engine size is small the car does not use up too much fuel which is great for the environment.
This car is very easy to drive, It has all mod cons that you would expect in a fairly modern car, such as power steering, air con, cd player etc.
Some people have complained that the clutch can be stiff on Renault's but I have to say I have not felt this problem.

This is my first car and I am very impressed. Having learnt to drive in a Peugot 307 S 2.0 Turbo Diesel, I obviously needed a smaller engined car, mainly for insurance!! I thought it would be ideal for my first car.
INSURANCE & TAX:
This car has cheap insurance, especially for first time drivers. It is in a low insurance band. Road tax is also cheap, currently I pay £60 for 6 months which is not too bad. I have found this a cheap car to run, but it doesnt look cheap and it definately doesnt feel cheap to drive.
PETROL CONSUMPTION:
With this car being a 1.2, it is really good for fuel economy. It costs roughly £45 to fill up the tank (50litres) and I get about 44mpg which is pretty good.
APPEARANCE:
The exterior of the car is lovely. It looks a sporty little car and is very neat. My car is metallic silver and always seems to look clean. The interior of the car is good, my expression has a CD player which is great. Seats are comfy and lucklily they are height adjustable, for tall people like me!
RELIABILITY:
As of yet I have had no problems whatsoever with the Clio. It always runs well and passed its MOT a couple of months ago.
DRIVING IT:
I find the Clio to be a good little driver. Although it is only a small engine, it is pretty nippy around town. At motorway speeds engine noise can seem a little loud, however this is to be expected with a 1.2.
Overall, I would recommend this car to a wide variety of people, especially as a first car and for those who wish to spend as less as possible on petrol and tax. It is a quality little car and suitable for many.
The appearance is one of the best things with the Clio, as it looks really exciting, something rare in such small cars. Also the economy is great.
I'd love it if the sunroof didn't creak when on bumpy roads! And also if you do a lot of motorway driving a bigger engine would be much better.

This car is brilliant it drives so smoooth and fast. It is a very economical car and small but at the same time fits everyone in. This car is economical which is good because it saves you a lot of money on the insurance and tax but also petrol.
The size of the car is excellent on the outside although it looks small, it is spacious from the inside and fits everyone in.
The front of the car could be a bit more hard for when accidents take place, it would not bend or get damaged.
1.5 Dci Dynamique Tom Tom
I recently bought a 5 door 1.4 2007 Dynamique Clio with only 6,000 miles on it. I didn’t really know much about Clio's and it was not on my list of cars I was interested in. I randomly came across a Clio on a car website and decided it looked very smart so I went of and test drove one. I was then hooked, I wanted a Clio!
Once I started driving my car home I was so happy with my purchase. The steering on it is so light and you almost feel like its doing the work for you. Driving fast with light steering is not an issue as alot of reviews I read gave the car a bad name for light steering on country roads, but I think its a great thing.
The Clio is rated for its safety features and for that it has loads. There are a huge amount of lights on the dashboard and for someone who has just been driving a much older car it was a little overwhelming at first. But once reading the well explained manual all the buttons and lights became clear and suddenly my car seemed even better! The trip computer is also on the dashboard and that is great. It tells you when your service is due, MPG and how much petrol is left. All the radio controls are on the steering wheel and makes driving and changing radio channels much easier.
The interior is great. Very smart and neat. The inside seems much larger once your in the car. Back passengers have plenty of leg space and in the front are cup holders and plenty of spaces to throw phones, CDs and any other items.
Overall its a great car. Lots of features, drives well and very economical.
Corner lights for driving around corners on dark streets, safety home lights so you can get to or from your car safely in a dark car park and light steering means driving is so much easier.
Slightly better heating system, electric windows in the back but otherwise nothing. Very happy with this new car.

This is not the best car of its category, I think that the Ford Fiesta or the Volkswagen Polo are better. However, with a such low price, this car overtakes the others! I bought this one mainly for the price, and I am not disappointed at all! I use it very often in the town center and I find it very practical (Small and easy to park, No complicated driving system...). It is quite beautiful from the outside; simple and stylish. Maybe the interior design is not that original (most features are standard) but it is certainly very practical for the everyday use. Concerning performances, it is not the best car in the market but generally, I am satisfied with this it. And for this range of price, I highly recommend this one.
Many features make this car very practical like its size, 5 doors... But the most important features are the low price and reliability.
Though improvements may make it more expensive, I suggest to have a better multimedia support (mp3, audio player) and GPS... It would be very interesting to have a radar parking feature to make it more practical.
1.5 Dci 106 Privilege
This Clio 5 Door Privilege is very expensive to pick up. However the car is suppose to fill all your requirements so I got this car at a decent price from a trader. The exterior design of the car is very nice, I really like the design of the car from the back and at the front it looks good!
The interior design of the car is also very positive with the car looking awesome inside. The seats are very comfortable and you can easily get 3 big people inside the back of the car to. There is a good amount of space available at the back of the car to.
I thought the boot of the car had little space but I was very wrong. There was a big amount of space so there is another thing to be cheerful about with this car. The car's tires are very strong to running fantastically well on the road.
I also like the fog lights, I have drove a few roads on the motorway with the fog lights on. They have been very strong so I have been easily able to see where I am driving on dark roads without lights, thanks to the fog lights.
Everyone likes to save money and with this car I am saving money on the petrol every week. It seems to only take 10 pounds a week for me when going to work and back so that is good! The insurance group is not that expensive either!
Best of all has to be the way the car runs, this year I have been on 50 odd trips to London from Bolton. Never has there been a problem with the car stopping. This makes sense to me that this car is reliable on the road always!
Improvements? Well the car could have had a nice CD player put in. The one inside the car already put in had any style to it and did not match with the style of the car really! The other improvement I can think of would be the air conditioner which does not work too well. Sometimes you have to wait ages for the air conditioner to work and sometimes you get hot air inside of cold when turning it on, must be a mistake with the company!

I got this car at the start of the year and been very pleased with my buy! This car cost me over 5 grand to buy in the market but has been a fantastic buy so far.
The top quality of the car is its been very efficient on the road for me. The petrol of the car is very cheap and also to get insured on the car you can save a few pounds to so not a bad buy to get at all.
The style of the car inside is very nice and appealing. The best design inside of the car is the seats which are very comfy, nice seat belts and a nice heating system which all the time works well. The car always gets heated up fast so there's not a issue ever with that.
It was snowing heavily last week and I had to drive the car down a hill. This car had no problems at all it contained it self on the road really well. The brakes were fantastically strong so I felt very safe driving the car down the road.
The speed of the car is very pleasing to because it never over goes the speed limit. For example when I put my foot down on the gas on a 30mph road it never over goes the speed limit like other cars.
Not much improvements I can think of maybe a bit more fancy design inside the car would have helped. A better steering wheel to control would have also helped, the lights at the back of the car sometimes do not work.
Fog lights are not strong at all that is the main problem with the car but forgetting that everything else with the car is fantastic!

Great fuel consumption only being a 1.2. Quiet nipper. I love the colour of my car its like a bluey/purple. Lovely to drive even though a small car, its quite roomy inside, front and rear. I have owned this for 1 year and it flu thru the MOT. It reg is a X. Big enough boot for what I need. Not to small. I have been on holiday for a week and the boot was big enough. Great ladies car I say.
The Renault Clio has plenty of features and add ons if required although I have not added any extras as I am happy with the car the way it is.
All I can suggest for improvements is that a basic standard car is all I need so I require no improvements at the moment. Its a family car but comfortable enough for me and my kids.
1.5 Dci 86 Dynamique
For those drivers like me who likes something simple, but nonetheless comfortable to drive, I can only recommend this Clio: for the money you pay for it, you can drive a car quite "parkable", with the minimum requirements of comfort, quick and at the same time economic. Easy to drive and smooth. The design is a bit ugly, I must admit, but I guess Renault is just keeping up with the current trend set by all the other manufacturers. Excellent value for your money, though and that's my final word.
Power steering, air conditioning, airbags, abs, central locking. Electric windows, alloy wheels, electric mirrors, electronic stability for a reasonable price, seat belt pre-tensionner, as i said that's my personal definition of minimum standard of comfort required in a car. I can also mention the consumption level of fuel per mile is quite acceptable in comparison to the competition's models and the overall engine's performance is rather excellent for a small city car, so good that it won't let you down in a road trip.
Metallic paint, rear electric windows, alarm, manual sunroof available as standard equipment would be great. The plastics noise on higher speeds could improve a little. USB ports for mp3 players included in the car stereo system should definitely be a good idea, cheaper options than the existing ones (electric sunroof and satellite navigation).

I had the pleasure of being the owner of this car for about 3 years now and a little more. The price of this car is by no means cheap at all but you can pick up the car for around 3,000 grand or more so its not that bad. Now the style of this car is what made me buy the car.
The car is not in fashion but its a nice car which does stand out. The car will not go out of fashion or style because of its look as it does not compete with the other cars in the market like that. It is also very clean from the inside with every impressive features.
The seats are very comfortable and so is the steering wheel very smooth to move around. The clutch, the brakes are also simple to get around using to. On my first day of driving the car I picked it up easily and had no problems at all. Reversing the car was a little tricky but once again easy to get used to.
On petrol weekly I spend about 15 quid so its not cheap but it is decent enough for me. I have had hardly any problems with the car but sometimes when driving fast I need to put the brakes on a little quicker than I used to with my other cars. The speed of this car is very fast is the reason for this maybe.
This car has many things which would make you like the car a lot. For me it has to be the style of the car inside which is very nice and stands out. Also driving the car has never been a problem for me at all. The car has yet to break down anywhere or cause any problems.
These cars are basically faultless when taking it for MOT over the last 3 years there has been no problems at all. The gears are also so easy to use and any one who has not drove the car before would find it one to get used to easily.
Every car would need improvements for me I think the Clio is near enough perfect. The car could do with a better engine maybe that starts up quicker. In bad weather conditions the car does its time to start up about 10 minutes of warming the car up then it begins to work all good.
Another possible improvement could be the size of the tires. I think the tires on the car are a little too big for the car. One last suggestion would be a better light in the car! I can hardly see with the light bulb in the car in the dark!
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
