Renault Clio

Review by Biswa Malla on 7/12/2009

Review

The car is good, but lacks power. Its design is not very popular in the local garages and getting any job done with the retailer. The mileage of the car is good. Its central locking is not the best. Good car if used within the city. Spare parts are not easily available.

Favourite Features

Mileage of the car is good and it passes the MOT easily. The look of the car is also very good. You can make out it is a Clio from a distance.

Suggested Improvements

Use alloy wheels, and better power steering, better interior designs, may be the use of sylvan look would make it a lot better.

Clio in the rain!

Review by Denise McLean on 7/12/2009

Review

I loved my Clio, until recently with all this wet weather it showed me how dangerous a small car can really be. The front end is so light, even with good new tyres, going straight and slow in the rain I felt I was driving a death trap and held on to the steering wheel with all my might. After driving lots of big cars, I now know why its the smaller cars that seem to go out of control more.

Favourite Features

Small, cute and easy to manage in dry weather, next best and cheapest thing to the faithful old mini. Good heaters, brilliant stereo when its on! (switches itself off every 20 minutes or so)

Suggested Improvements

Scrap the stereo turning off thing, its so annoying, stick a ten ton weight at the front end to hold it down in the wet!

- Like the way the seats hug you make you feel more relaxed when drving long journeys

Suggested Improvements

- More space for people at the back
- Gear stick could be a little higher
- Air condition as the car gets very cold in the winter

Clio Va Va Voooom

Review by K Bartlett on 4/12/2009

Review

Nice little car in black. Plenty of room and very easy to drive, handles ok, the dash is tidy and seating position is ok although took a while to get correct adjustment. Being 5 door is ideal for the kids. Nice sound system with steering wheel type controls.

Favourite Features

Steering wheel audio adjustments, five big doors for ease of access for both front and rear passengers, large boot, and very, very economical. Very stylish exterior and interior is rather well thought out. Parts are cheap when required.

Suggested Improvements

The road noise when driving is high on the motorways, Also the road noise is high at nominal speeds of 40 - 50 miles per hour. The aerial antenna for the sound system rattles quite a bit when travelling at high speed. The car may be economical but not very nippy.

My Clio

Review by M. Murphy on 3/12/2009

1.2 16V Dynamique

Review

I have had this car for four years and have loved it from day one. It is a compact car but has plenty of room inside for passengers, shopping and even my large dog. It goes a long way on a little petrol, it is very fuel efficient. I will be replacing it soon with exactly the same model.

Favourite Features

My favourite features are the automatic windscreen wipers and the automatic operation of the lights. It also has the usual central locking, electric front windows and a decent cd player.

Suggested Improvements

The only improvements I can suggest are to the appearance of the car. The external appearance could do with a little updating, in fact the newest model has had this done and looks pretty good. Internally, I would like to see better quality covers on the seats.

Great for beginners

Review by Richard B on 3/12/2009

Vehicle

Review

This car is ultimately ideal for any first time buyer, or someone who doesn't need a big run around. Cheap to tax, insure and run, the Clio is extremely spacy compared to similar hatchbacks in it's class, and the power provided by the 1.2 litre engine is enough for any new driver.

Favourite Features

Favourite features are the adjustable seat options, and the lack of obvious 'blind spots' for a car of it's size for the driver to navigate around.

Suggested Improvements

A larger range of colours, and interior options are needed. Unlike other cars in the Renault range, the Clio falls down on the lack of design quality - however the build is very good.

The little Frenchie

Review by Gahbiche Mohamed on 2/12/2009

Vehicle

Review

The Renault Clio is a very popular car in France and is is very fun to drive car for teenagers. The new model is more fun and comfortable than the older one and it offers more space and better performance of driving. The clio has a refined interior design won a "supermini car" award 2006.

Favourite Features

The Clio offers a very great drive feelings and the car is very useful for town as the Clio is not very large you can easily park it "everywhere".

Suggested Improvements

i would appreciate adding a new sound system, connections for the iPod and iPhone (docks) and a USB dock for the MP3 players. A bigger GPS (TomTom) and i would like changing the interior design as it's not very attractive and needs more colors ... also i would like a bigger space for the trunk.
