At the start of this year my husband bought me this Renault Laguna. It was really expensive for him to buy and we hoped it would be a good car for us to both drive on the road. It only ended up staying in our drive way for the short time of six months before being sold.
Now the Laguna is a lovely car do not get me wrong it used to be fantastic to drive. It had a nice clutch, awesome steering wheel with hardly any problems on the road. We never took it to the garage once because it had no faults with it at all it was just perfect.
The only problem we did have with the car was the expenses that came with the car. On insurance most companies would give us very high quotes for the car as they felt the car was not too reliable, so we paid more in insurance.
The other cost was the weekly petrol and that was costing us 100 pounds a month, that meant it was 25 pounds a week. So in terms of expenses the fuel alone would cost you 1,200 a year so we got rid of the car for that expense reason.
I must admit I used to love driving this car about on the road. All my friends used to say this car is gorgeous and it was. Inside the car was so nice and very smart looking. Nice clean seats, lovely style at the front of the car I would feel happy all the time driving this car.
On the road it was a good performer with a few long distance journeys going all well. The car was a lovely treat its a shame the petrol was too much or else we would have kept it.
This car hardly needs any improvements but the cost of insurance for some reason is so high. I am 28 and I have problems paying for the insurance of this car! Forgetting the insurance the damn petrol cost you so much so you lost out too much money when getting this car.
If the car was cheaper on the insurance I would have certainly still owned it and of course the petrol to. The car it self hardly needs any improvements it simply perfect!

This is a good car but because they have added too many sensors and sometimes there light was on without having a problem. I have only this problem with my car and also i don't know why but CD player doesn't work straight away in winter.
This car has got comfortable seats. This car also has a good size of boot, usually other cars like BMW doesn't even have. I would love to have new car but because I had problems with sensors I try to ignore to buy.
I would recommend the company to fix the problem with the CD system. It is ok if it works but it doesn't work in winter but no problem in summer. Also I would ask them to fix the sensor problem which did cost me alot without any reason.

I have done a lot of homework before I bought this car. I think I tend to consider another Laguna as the Laguna was my current car when I purchased the second Laguna. My homework proved to be wrong except for Fuel Consumption.
I bought the Laguna II Expression (2003 - 53 Reg) as used and I am the 2nd owner. From the minute I had the keys it started to give trouble.
It was only 32,000 miles done.
1. The SERVICE light lit and the Oil level indicater blinks. Both intermitent, that no issue can find with oil level - No solution, but it is working ok now.
2. The Steering Rack completely replaced at 35,000 miles - FREE Parts & Labour with Arnold Clark Auto Care Warranty.
3. Front Discs replaced at 37,000 miles - Cost me ££.
4. 2 Steering rod ends replaced at 45,000 miles - Cost me ££.
5. Driver door windo winder replaced at 45,000 miles - FREE Parts & Labour with Arnold Clark Auto Care Warranty.
6. Rear Axel bushes replaced at 45,000 miles - Cost me £££.
7. Rear Shocks replaced at 55,000 miles - Cost me £££.
8. Driver's Door Latch replaced at 55,000 miles - FREE Parts & Labour with AA Warranty.
9. Steering Rack Arm replaced at 55,000 miles - FREE Parts but Labour cost me ££ with AA Warranty.
I am not in a position to pay for a new car, but have to live with the Laguna for a while.
Road handling of Laguna is not very good and shakes almost on all bumpy roads and even over a manhole. No problems with the Engine so far. Sometimes gear lever is quite stiff. Wind noise and the engine noise is very high inside the cabin. Very basic materials throughout interior.
Generous leg space for the rear passengers. Good road visibility. Best part is the fuel consumption. Mine Engine is 1.9 Diesel and does about 52 mpg on average. Better on long distances.
On the Laguna II anything can improve apart from the fuel consumption. Given an Economical Family car Laguna has a long way to improve it's quality.
Perhaps the New Laguna come as a better car, but I am still to experience it. However, my past and present Experience with Renault give me a very little chance to go back for a Renault.
My suggestion is, if you can afford just go for a VW or a BMW, your money paid will well worth!

This car is such a brilliant one to own and I have had the pleasure of owning this car for a while now. The style of the car is just amazing with a lovely luxury interior design and exterior design to. On the insurance, the car is not very expensive to insure either!
The car runs fast and well on the road with no problems at all experienced by me yet. I find the car to be amazingly good on the road with no faults happened yet for me. It has taken me to a lot of places in the UK and with that being said no faults at all.
The car's price is expensive though the car does cost a lot but still I would say the car is worth every penny. In the winter it has been working well for me always. Once it was snowy really bad where I live but the car still in the bad conditions worked excellent.
I would say the features of this car all around are excellent, however the main top features of the car have to be the strong engine. In bad weather conditions the car can start up without any problems at all. This is a big positive point about the car I like and is no doubt the top feature of the car.
Other favorite features of the car include its strong brakes which work like emergency stops. The car is easy to control on the road with everything going fine. The seats of the car are really comfy makes you feel posh!
I can only think of two improvements for the car and one would be the style of petrol cap. They needed that to fit in well with the design of the car but that does not seem to be the case with the car at all. The steering wheel is also a little tight to get out when the car is locked.
The wheel's do feel a little down but once you put in air they are fine. That feeling does come back after a week so that is the two main improvements I can think for the car really everything else is alright.

This car meets almost all my expectations, it is comfortable, economic for such a big vehicle, spacious. On board computer has all the statistics at the finger prints. I was spoiled for choice with the range of colours. My favourite is black.
On board computer, built in sat nav, CD changer with remote on steering wheel, climate control. Dynamique model drives nice and easy and pleasantly manoeuvrable.
ipod connection also it would be nice to have the same model with a sunroof. But overall very very happy, keep up the good work.

I have the 5 door version of the stunning Renault Laguna. Renault come up trumps with this model especially with the keyless starter, and the excellent ride position. The car has enough brake horse to pass those stragglers on the motorway and enough mouse about it around the town centre. Its comfort is second to none.
Renault have one of the most comfiest seats I have ever sat in, in a car. I put this up against Mercedes and Lexus, yet these pair cost a lot more than a Renault Laguna. I think it has something to do with the supension and it makes it really really comfortable.
The interior af a Renault leaves something to be desired. It feels like top gear would have a field day with it. The dashboard is tacky, and is not pleasant enough to want to look at for a long period of time.

This car is everything it says and more. Does exactly what it says on the tin. We have had no problems with it, its reliable, smooth and comfortable. We had a Laguna in the past and because that was so good we decided to go for another. The fuel consumption is good and has not decreased over time. Its a smooth drive and whilst only being a 1.5 in has enough kick to get you where you want to go. Its ideal round town but equally as good on the motorway. All in all we couldn't have found anything better for us.
The seats are comfy along witha really nice interior. The 5 doors make it practical and its suprising what you can fit in the boot when you need to. The central locking is also handy as it save so much time and is so quick.
I really cannot think of anything I would change, we are really happy with it all round. The next time we purchase a car we will definitely look at a Laguna again. Value and reliabilty together with comfort you can't really go wrong.

I bought this car 3 years ago and never had a Renault before. I was nicely surprised by small features packed like comfortable dashboard, automatic oil check, easy to change bulbs. Engine is powered enough to get to 60 mph quick enough. Very good economy on Motorway.
Automatic oil check, comfortable seats, nice interior, low maintenance, low fuel consumption on motorway, cheap parts to replace
Power steering liquid piping was not the best quality, gave away in few years. Oil sump is made of alloy so hard wearing but expensive to replace.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
