What a car. Everything about this car was far better than I was expecting. Roadholding is brilliant, brakes are incredible, there is so much room inside and in the boot and to cap it all off it has a 5* euro ncap rating.
The brakes I just love. They are so powerful yet delicate as well. The CD radio is a dream, its so loud yet undistorted, easy to operate and clear as a bell.
I cannot think of any. It ticks every box you could care to mention. The one slight point that I could possibly find to moan about is that it is easy to stall - but only because the engine is so quiet.

I have owned this car for a while now, and overall it is very smart and a good car, however, it has a problem with the injectors. If I accelerate hard then the check injectors message comes on along with the service light. Although it goes off next time you start the car, it is still a massive pain as it puts the car into limp mode.
I would say my favourite features is probably just the overall look of the car, its very smart looking. It is also quite a nice car to look at inside. Automatic lights and wipers are also pretty good features.
Not really sure where they could improve the car. Obviously they could try and sort the injector problem as it seems to be quite a common fault.

I got bought this car as my first car, second hand from a large dealership. Ever since then I have not regretted it at any point. It can perform well, whilst staying with good fuel economy and you can easily fit 5 in the car as I always run me and 4 friends around.
- Easy to get parts (if ever needed)
- Cheap to Run
- Fun to Drive
- Spacious
- Half decent Sound system as standard
- Large boot space.
If I could improve anything I would improve the performance of the car. The car performs very well however I always feel that any improvements to this would be greatly recieved.

I bought my car from new in 2005 direct from a Renault dealer and I still love it as much as I did day 1. It's got a massive boot, feels safe to drive, very spacious and a great looking car. I recommend the Megane to many friends and my sister is going to purchase one soon as she has two small children and it's won safety awards.
Curvy shape, excellent boot space. Very economical, easy to drive, easy to service. Great interior design. Plenty of storage space
I cannot think of any improvements! Well apart from perhaps having more durable sides that do not dent as easy when other road users open there doors onto my bodywork

The first impression this car gives, is it is basic normal... But I think it's more than that. To start with, this Megane shows the real character of the Renault. I love the way it feels on the road and I love its exterior Renault-y design ;). However, the interior design is quite modest and not very comfortable: To me, everything feels standard and cheap! Maybe because it IS cheap, but I mean it could be much better with a more beautiful interior design =/.
Exterior design is the main reason that made me choose this car. It is also fun to drive and most importantly, has a nice character =)
Better interior design (the dashboard is too simple and the back seats are not very comfortable). Better multimedia support (mp3, audio, screens...)

My 51 plate Magane has just done 80,000 miles. I paid £950 for it back in July. I have spent about £350 on it, including front and rear brake disks replacing, and adusting the lantra sensor, I still have a warning light (ABS and Air Bag) which I am going to sort out over Xmas.
Overall, I like the car, I can get about 300 miles out of £45 and a MPG of 33-40.
I like the on board computer which tells you how many miles you have done since you press the reset button, your miles per gallon, how many miles you have left in the tank (this is not acurate).
I think they should move the hazard light button and the child safety lock button as they are right by my knee when I am driving and sometimes I knock the buttons.

My Renault Megane is now three years old and, unlike others I know, has never let me down. Great runner. Good oomph when you accelerate, and handles well in my opinion. Did take me a while to get used to that shape, but like it a lot now. Double sunroof is great (when the sun's out!). Although only one half opens, when you do open it and the windows it's great fun. Radio/CD is good, lots of discs go in and steering wheel mounted controls make it safer to listen. Auto headlights and windscreen wipers are also good. Set these and forget about them.
Keyless entry system. This is very good. You don't have to unlock the door, don't have to beep the car. Just have the keycard in your pocket and the car will unlock for you. Great when you're carrying stuff to go in the boot. Don't have to insert the card to drive either. Press the start button with the keycard about your person and away you go.
Better heater. Takes a wee while to unfog the windscreen on a cold day. Less nooks in the console and centre console to gather dust and debris. I've got two kids and it gets messy, and it's hard to clean some of the little crevises around the car. Gets a bit noisy at speed too.

Very economical only £35 road tax on the 1.5 dci. Very clean car to run. Very low costs. Does approx 62 miles per gallon which is very good. Can do up to 800 miles on 1 tank full. Very nice alloy wheels comes with the car. Plenty of space in the car aswell.
Electric windows, the interior. Alloy wheels, trip computer, plenty of boot space. Service only needed every 18000 miles.
Better radio. Better seats. Sometimes the door skirts knock when driving. Maybe extra features like heated seats and quick clear windscreen.

I have had a Renault Megane since new 07. So far no problems (apart a minor fault with the electric windows). Fairly economic with fuel consuption, and insurance is relatively cheap. The car is very reliable and I have had no problems in the colder months. Interior is fairly basic however it does come with climate control. The 1.4 is a little sluggish off the mark and if I had my timeover I would probably go for a more powerful engine. Comes with electric windows and air conditioning. The power steering is nice and light and in comparision to other vehicles the breaks are very sharp.
My favourite feature of the car is the air conditioning and the reliability. Additionally it is very economic in regards to fuel consumption and the low insurance is another added bonues.
Although a 1.4 engine is okay in a smaller car I think the engine is not powerful enough for the size of a megane and it results in the vehicle being a little sluggish off the mark. If I was Renault I would scrap the 1.4 models in the future. Additionally I think a focus on the interior and gadgets may help to boost the meganes appeal (i.e Ipod dock etc).

I have a Renault Megane 1.6. I have owned this car for four years now & has never let me down yet. The only things I have had go wrong are niggly faults like i.e- Leaking sun roof I cannot seem to cure this, sqeaking from steering column on hot days and its hard to demist when damp - takes an age. I have had minor faults with earthing on things like the alternator etc. The car does not handle well at speed on cornering. Number plate lights always going out due to connections caused by weather. Other wise not a bad run around for the money 5/10.
My favourite features are - Electric windows & sunroof operation, radio controls on steering column work great, electric features on the dashboard telling you fuel consumption, how many miles of petrol left in your tank etc. The seating is comfortable & the safety features are fantastic worked very well on one accident I had. A nice car.
Some off the electrics in this car leave a lot to be desired - a bit on the cheap side. Work on demisting the windscreen would be an inprovement. Sealing of the sunroof would help, making the fuses more accessable to remove & check.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
