Having had this car a year now I can report that it is brillliant for a family car. Plenty of headroom, storage and space in the back complete with snack tray between seats. I wish I had had this car when my kids were younger. Takes a wheel chair in the boot effortlessly. Good on the motorway and has a changeable position to drive.
Smoothness, interior size, boot space, collapsible seats and split back seat. Good view out of all the windows. Lockable petrol cap. Lighting in the back is seperate from the front.
Need a space in the front which is enclosed for coins etc. Space between front seats is too far back. Would like cup holders in the front.

When you first look at this car, it is obvious that it could be great - very spacious and clean lines. However it has some problems which holds the car back. The petrol variant is simply not powerful enough, and the diesel engine is a bit on the noisy side. Still, if you're looking for a good sized family car, this could be the car for you.
This car is not too expensive fortunately - £15,000 will get you the base model plus a set of alloys and metallic paint. The spacious interior also creates a relaxing environment.
There is only one real improvement I could suggest for this car - get a bigger engine. The 2.0 litre diesel variant will be much better and make for a better driving experience.

With a family it can often be hard to find a car that provides comfort, realiabilty and a 'low' cost solution when going on those family expeditions. Yet look no further then the Seat Altea, providing a un-matched experience in comparison to other cars around this price range, the Altea is much more then just a piece of eye-candy and contains all those features listed above.
The excellent dash-board provides all you need to know in regards to the cars health, even alerting you when it notes a change in the amount of air the type contains. Slightly less technical, but probably much more important is the comfort that the seats in the Altea provide.
There really isn't that much that needs improving with the Altea, other then the windscreen wipers are designed for left hand side drivers due to Seat being a Spanish maker. It also seems to leave a line down the middle of the screen on the drivers side, whenever used.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
