Well what can I say, I owned this car around 2 years ago & it was 1 of the best cars I've ever had, it was very economical being a 1.2 but it just didnt have any "poke" ... it's ideal as an around town car but the motorway its not very good, however I'm not a motorway person so the car was absolutley ideal for me. All in all 2 sum up, its a nice car which is cheap & reliable.
Very cheap to run, nice drive, practical. Roomy for a little car. CD player. Electric windows. Reliable.
I dont recommend any improvements as I like the car how it was. Its fun 2 drive & I cant see anything that needs doing to it.

Bought used just over 2 years ago. Suprising amount of power considering the small engine, but very breathless at high(er) rpm's. Low down torque good for overtaking or quick junction exits. Seats can be uncomfortable on long journeys.
Very intuitive climate control. Rarely have to touch it these days, it just seems to know if I am hot or cold! Kind its reason for existing I suppose!
Eats bulbs! Replace my headlight lamps every 6 months and brake/rear tail lights every 4-5. Don't know if its an isolated fault however. (15k per year, lights on only when needed!)

A great little run around! Economical and practical for a small family. Only faults I have found are the gears are quite tough to change sometimes - almost having to force into reverse is a pain. Also why oh why the manufacturer plastic coated the handles on the door card is beyond me - the plastic scratches off and looks unsightly!. Having said this - I have had my 02 plate Ibiza for a year and have had (touch wood) trouble free motoring every day since.
Looks quite smart - yet fairly cheap to buy. Climate control and a great sound system are a definite bonus!
Non plastic coated door cards and smoother gears!... some of the plastic interior looks a tad cheap.

The Seat Ibiza is a great little all rounder! Not overly gifted in the extras department, but pokey engine and very reliable. Build quality is OK and you can really see the likeness with Skoda and VW's. One issue I do have is the bulbs. Different bulbs KEEP blowing - I reckon I can change them all in the dark now! Is this unique to my car or is there an inherrant problem? Also the engine bay is soooo cramped it's almost impossible to access components, even with small hands! Fuel economy is great with it achieving the 55MPG stated (I checked it!)
The favorite features are the engine performance, quick heating system (great on frosty mornings!), nice feel to the gearbox and sharp breaks. Boot space is good, but has quite a large lip to get heavy objects over. The stereo is good quality, although dirty CD's can jam the unit.
I think Seat should address the bulb issue and also have a good look at the design of the engine bay. By this I mean to access the power steering reservoir you have to remove the battery and battery tray - not an easy job. This is supposed to be an user accessible part!

The Ibiza is a stylish, fun-loving family hatchback, One of the most environmentally friendly ways of transporting a family and its comfortable. However I have to express my extreme disappointment that the Ibiza is not able to match the fuel consumption of my Clio, even though its official fuel consumption figures are significantly better across the range.
Supermini that's got the lot, exceptionally good-looking, the Seat Ibiza is a good car that's got the edge over the market in the 10k sector.
Usually a lack of equipment compared to comparible standard models from the same range. The car needed a little more power for over-taking.

I have had my Seat Ibiza for 6 years and for the first 5 years of those where trouble free, however once the car hit 5 years the real trouble started, an engine management problem which cost about £100, then the timing belt slipped costing just under £500. Of course these things happen but for a car that has only done 35,000 miles I think that is alot of things that are not just run of the mill car running costs. On the plus side for a car which cost just over £8,000 new, the spec is very good air conditioning, cd player electric window and central locking.
Power steering and air conditioning are my favourite features of my Seat Ibiza and a must have in the summer. My car before this one didn't have power steering and was really difficult to manouver, this however is great for this.
The seats could be a better colour mine are a light grey, you couldn't choose when buying, they have really shown the dirt as I have two small children. Also the jack for changing the tyres is not very good quailty however I don't think they are on any car.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
