A good quality well built five door hatchback, packed with extras, a body that is galvanised, so no major rust problems here. All the drivetrain and running gear are from tried and tested models in the audi/volkswagen range, mpg varies from 48mpg for local driving to anything upto 62 mpg on a long journey(driven gently). Insurance is very reasonable group nine and the deprecciation is quite low as these cars are always in demand. I bought mine brand new in 2005 and after all this time it still gives me buzz when I drive it. I can honestly say its probably the best car I have ever owned and have no intention of selling it.
The features I like about the car are the very comfortable recaro style seats, the racy green brake calipers, the front and rear spoilers, the 16 inch alloy wheels, last but not least the gutsy 1.9 turbo diesel, coupled to a slick 6 speed box.
A remap improves the drivability and are able surprise much more powerful and expensive cars. All this without affecting the mpg to much, the air intake pipe from the seat cupra 160 is a direct replacement and along with a pippercross air filter it really does the business.

This is the sleakest car I've ever had. The steering is not heavy and it goes round corners like skates on ice. Its also quick in seconds going to 60mph. Not much passenger room but it could be improved if it when back to the dealer.
The car boot has plenty room the gear box is pretty good. Plenty of storage for things as cassette tapes cd's etc
Could be slightly longer in length and also wider for better passenger comfort. The boot could be slightly wider though I do say it is not bad at the moment.

The Skoda has always been known for its luxuries and expensive drives. But, the Fabia is the peak of Skoda. It is really good and extremely expensive. The interiors are amazing. Its comfortable and a masterpiece. The Fabia is also very spacious, it has a large leg space for better comfort.
The car is very luxuries and very comfortable. The design is also the best one Skoda ever made. The engine is stable and smooth.
The price really makes Fabia out of reach of major part of the society. The maintenance is very costly. Also, the engine makes a weird noise when at a good speed which irritates a lot.

Built quite sturdily and cheap insurance, I have to say I like the Fabia II. Its also quite nippy for a 1.2. I have had the Model 2 since release, which is 2 1/2 years ago and haven't had a problem with it so far, touch wood! I dont think you can go wrong for the amount the Fabia II costs and would recommend it to anyone!
Stereo plays mp3 which is nice, and the onboard computer that calculates how many miles left in the tank is useful. Car boot is also very spacious and as a young family we keep the McLaren buggy in the back at all times, and you can put the shopping in the boot also. It is probably the most spacious hatchback you can get for the money judging from the cars we viewed when purchasing.
Sat Nav device as standard would be nice. Other than that a proper 5th wheel rather than the emergency one that is supplied. Other than that nothing at all!

Anybody in two minds about getting this car then they should. I'd be surprised if anyone could find a better brand new car for the same amount of money. I think Skoda are doing these VAT free & scrappage deals.
Decent fuel economy - about 45 mpg, spacious, fast enough (considering it's a 1.2l), decent stereo with mp3 and an aux connection for ipod or mp3 player, air con, central locking.
For the amount of money you can't really ask for too much more! Remote locking would have been nice as standard and also a glove box.

We have always used Skoda's, as they are reliable and have yet to let us down, they might be the punchline of many a joke, but since the VW takeover they have become worthy cars.
If you are just looking for a car that gets you from A to B then any Skoda will do this day in day out, and if it breaks down then the costs are usually quite low.
I would say that the favourite feature for me would be the way this car, for me, outclasses other cars that cost several thousands more. I can't rate Skoda's high enough for reliability.
One thing that Skoda could improve on is the actual internal design of the car. Although the outside looks alright, once you get inside you know that you have bought a budget car, but for some people this is what they want. A no frills car.

A great all round small hatchback. I cannot hestitate to recommend it. Most suited to a couple or small family. Well built. Slightly heavy body. Handles and corners well if a little heavily. Cruise control makes light of longer journeys. Seats are firm but comfortable. Slightly functional cockpit design, but includes all the main modern features. Skoda's have come a long way and potential buyers should have an open mind. I did and I would buy another, probably larger Skoda in the future.
Excellent fuel efficiency, cheap to run and insure, nice stereo and very reliable. Bought it as an upgrade from an older Corsa and for the better safety features.
With a growing family, I would like to see a bigger boot. Also the front seating has lots of legroom but back seat passengers are a bit restricted for space. Lacks the kerb appeal of a Mini.

The Fabia has a 1200 engine with 3 cylinders and is signal red in colour. The Skoda lacks pulling power, however once its away it holds speed great, the heater cuts in very quickly. The Fabia is very economical with good handling and enough room In the car for a family of 5. It has a very generous boot space which can fit 2-3 average sized suitcases.
The Fabia is very economical to run and spare parts are easy and cheap to come by. The car beeps and a flashing warning light appears on the dashboard to let you know when you need to refuel, in case you weren't paying attention and conk out!
The Fabia would be much better if it came with electric windows and central locking, as this makes life a little bit easier. It would be great in the winter and cold days if the car had heated seats to warm your backside up. A bigger engine would have been ideal, however this one is very economical

This car was an upgrade in all areas for us. Safety, performance, comfort and reliability are excellent.
The build feels reassuringly German, the car handles well and is a pleasure to drive either in the city, bimbling around the country side or on a long trip.
For a small car there is ample space in the rear and a good sized boot also.
This car has lovely pick up, is fun to drive and easy to maintain. I particularly like the VW style head light knob.
Visibility when reversing is slightly hindered due to the rear window being higher than the driving position.

Plenty of space, nice body shape, quiet running. Good seating support. Best car for everyone who worked hard all they then wants to come back home with no stress, just like someone who wants to rest before getting to the home sofa.
Good looking car, good interior space, lots of storage, well isolated engine, quiet and pleasure to drive.
High price, it is not the best handling car, chunky front. Needs second speaker in the back in basic model.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
