This could have been so much better and I do hope Toyota don't get lost with the IQ which is much sillier car. The original idea is great, a cheap four seat supermini that is fast, light, low co2 producing, low depreciating easy to park and well designed. The bad bits; a terrible boneshaker which is so low it can ground over bumps (perhaps they don't have these in Japan).
The price, insurance group one, low co2, fast, easy to park, the design, nippy, low depreciation, Toyota, ( ar more exciting than Peugeot and Citroën clones).
Wider wheels, better suspension, more ground clearance, better wider range of models (the sport model certainly is not), wheel caps that fit.

The Toyota Aygo is an ideal car for anyone on a budget. Its size makes driving around and finding a parking spot easy.
It is one of the most efficient cars around with combined mpg of 62.8 and also one of the least polluting (and therefore cheap on tax), with just 106 Co2 emmsions making it only £45 a year road tax.
You will think with just a mere 1.0litre engine it would be slow, but again it's size makes up for that, weighing only around 1180kg, it's lightweight frame gives it great acceleration, faster than that of my old fiesta 1.6!! However at higher speeds the smaller engine sometimes requires you to shift down a gear earlier.
The Blue special edition also comes with air con as standard, a good speaker system and bluetooth for handsfree phoning.
The worst feature of this car is the boot size, but with the folding rear seats, its more than big enough for 2 people and their luggage.
The best feature of the Toyota Blue special edition for me is air con as standard in this model. Having driven a car without it for the past 10 years, it really is great in the hot summer months. The other great feature is simply the running costs, low fuel consumption, low emissions, a number of extras included as standard which would cost £1000's if added seperately. It also makes a great deal with the current scrappage deal if you get in quick. It even has a full spare tyre hidden under the boot floor, amazing how they managed to fit it in as many small cars only offer the temp fix solutions for a flat tyre.
The wheel column is adjustable, but the seat height is not. As someone who is quite tall, this leaves me feeling quite high up in the seat, although not too high that it affects my driving.
The cd/radio player is great, but I'd like to see more cars offer USB ports, as this is really the way in which people now store their music.
The worst feature for me is something which can probably be fixed with very little cost. It is the glove box. For some reason the have made it an open style box, leaving anything in there clearly visable to the passing thief. It needs not be lockable, but it should be covered so anything inside is not being advertised to be stolen.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
