The versatile Yaris offers a spacious interior with more legroom thanks to its upright design. With a wide range of engine options available, it’s no wonder the Yaris won European Car of the Year 2000

I have had my car for nearly 11 years now and in all those years 2 minor things have gone wrong with it - I have had to only recently replace a battery which in itself really is not a problem I have heard that's brilliant and the second is its had a new exhaust piece. It is superb on fuel and I can get to scotland on a full tank bare in mind I live in the east midlands. It is a small car but quite roomy inside for saying, being a 1 litre it isnt fast and takes a while to pick up speed but if you want a car to get from A to B and to never have to worry about it breaking down I would recommend a toyota yaris. I really do praise the car
To be honest I really dont have any favourite features about the car. It is bare minimum and I like the shape and is also a comfy little thing.
Suggested improvements would definately have to be the paint work on the car. It is actually starting to really let the car down or is that normal for a 11 year old car? The bottom of my door frame for no unknown reason has started to rust!! really dissappointing for saying the mechanics of the car have never failed me. They will outlast the bodywork!!! Also the rear passenger windows do not open so when a full car can be quite stuffy especially if warm. Other small modelled cars i have seen have opening windows at the back!!!

Having downsized from last two Avensis models was pleased with size of cabin, knee room for 5 passengers and quiet engine. The car is zippy, good acceleration with excellent cornering, good to drive. Very economical - over 53mph regularly -urban + motorway, engine = v.good performance. Controls well thought out and dealership could not be better
engine performance, acceleration and pull capability, with good overall comfort and reliability. Really can carry 5 in comfort
boot is cramped but this is a supermini, so difficulot where additional space could come from. Would enjoy cengtral armrest in rear if only four passengers carried

A lovely car to drive that looks good without being the slightest bit 'chavvy'. A great car for young people to drive as it is in insurance group 3 and therefore brings down the insurance premiums compared to other cars. Also this is a fairly reliable car (although not rated as reliable as the avensis)- I have had no problems with my car since owning it.
* Excellent Fuel economy at 50 mpg (I actually average about 46 mpg with a fair amount of urban driving)
* The back seats fold down to allow a surprising amount of space for such a small car (I've used it in the past to move many of my belongings)
* The driver seat should be able to meve further back as it may be uncomfortable for those with longer legs
* Leg space for passengers in the back is restrictive- an extra few inches would be useful there
* Electronic fuel guage on dash board does not go down proportionally (on my car it signifies half a tank when there is in fact only quarter of a tank left)

The Toyota Yaris is all about getting everything in a small area. When I bought it for my son I was amazed at the first ride, suddenly I thought why don't I sell my old car and buy a Yaris. The next day itself I exchanged my Ford Mustang for a Yaris.
I love the way its having a big space of getting hold of stuff in a small area. The interior looks luxurious.
I would suggest it becoming a little better at the body. The brakes should be a bit more powerful.

I love my car, its reliable, pretty looking and efficient, its just a perfect car for long journeys and tootling about town. Its just the right size for parking where big cars cant go, it is comfy too.
Love the dashboard with its digital readout, they do a good range of colours too. I have the blue, I've decorated mine.
None, its brilliant as it is its more colours though, like a purple, more drink holes as well but apart from that I cannot think of any improvements. Spare parts and labour from the sales are a bit expensive.

Excellent little car, passes MOT everytime, never broken down in the four years I have owned her. Push the back seats forward and you have a great boot. Push them back and there is plenty of room for 'guests'. Petrol consumption is fantastic. Will buy another Toyota - did not realise how reliable they are. Pretty shade of blue - what a girlie thing to write!!! Oops.
Favourite features - has to be the great dashboard - space age or what - my daughter bought a brand new Yaris last year - can't say more than that.
What improvements - well I guess I have to say something - limited for space - cant have big boot and legroom in the back. BUT you would not buy this car if that is what you after. Having said that, my daughter has 3 children and the car is GREAT.

A great reliable car, ideal for shopping and pootling around town. Not so good if you need a roomy, nippy car, It copes well with long drives but lacks oomph. Its cheap and reliable, Good on fuel economy, insurance and tax. Acceleration is poor. However when you eventually do reach 70mph on the motorway it feels ok.
Cheap, reliable. Easy to park, dont mind if it gets dented, the wife loves it (she chose it). Boots not too bad, servicing is cheap. Unlike my previous cars, you dont get boy racers trying to race me off the lights.
Faster, sportier, bigger, manlier, a bigger engine would be nice. It has a womans image and I get other cars nudging closer to me at the lights to have a letch and then realise I am a bloke.

Well the Yaris (2003) is a compact car with no problems. It drives well and is a fantastic car as I have to drop the kids off at school. Also the design is fantastic as it looks nice. I have it in all black and it is abosolutely stunning. I reccomend to people that wish to go take the kids to school or shortish journies.
Best features include my all in one cd/radio with remote control. Plus, must add the comfortable seats, which I find Toyota to do really well.
Improvements could include a colour screen and maybe better speakers. Also I think that the steering wheel could size down a bit as it is a bit big for my liking.

This little car can take a lot of punishment in terms of day to day wear and tear. And up to now, no problems except expected maintenence. It is small but surprisingly comfortable for taller people. Generally, a great option when it comes to the smaller sized cars.
The LCD display for speedometer stops the passenger commenting on the speed, which is a nice lttle feature. Generally the dashboard is well laid out, as is all the other controls, for a car this size.
The obvious thing would be to include a Sat Nat in the car. I try to keep everything out of view and its a pain to keep removing and replacing Sat Nav so an in built one would be great.

I bought this car as I wanted something little and nippy that was still stylish, and have not been disappointed. Good on petrol and has never given me any cause for concern, it flies through its MOT and annual service and I absolutely adore it.
Has to be the funky 'cashpoint' style petrol gauge, mileage, and speed monitor. Space - it has tons of it. The fact that you can move the back seats to give more room for the boot.
Floor coverings wear too quickly so invest in a good set of mats. Replacing the stereo can be costly as there is a flaw that means DIY can result in immbolising the car.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
