Bought a 59 plate Insignia with 10k miles on the clock for £8,995 which I consider a reasoable price for such a car. The seats are better than in my Passat and the sound clarity is excellent for a sub £30k car. Unfortunately there is a lot that could be improved. Having said that, it is still one of the best cars in its class and the price helped seal the deal.
Seats to rival any german saloon in the class. 6 speed manual had good gear ratios in SRi form. Decent economy for a 158bhp car.
Engine could do with more refinement as it shakes the cabin a little too much. New price is a little ambitious. Handling could be improved significantly

For the money, you cannot fault the specification of this car, now having owned it for six months from new, I am familiar with the car, I would say that it does not handle as well as I would have thought, although major issues such as fuel consumption and comfort are in line with my expectations. The true test for me is whether I would buy the car again, and the simple answer is yes, it is overall an excellent car and worthy of all its rewards.
The adaptive lighting, the ipod and audio features, the sat nav is very good and is easy to use, the in built blue tooth works without any issues and the light sensitive mirror is just awesome. I also had a plug socket fitted to the rear which has proved very useful.
No drink holders for the front of the car are included which is a shame. Apart from that the only other suggested improvement would be the inclusion of heated seats.

What a fantasic diesel powered vehicle! 6 speed gearbox, amazingly economical getting approx 550 miles on a full tank. Oh what fun I have driving this car. It looks stunning! Can't wait to get my hands on the VXR version!
The cockpit looks outstanding! Its bright and goes so well. The navigation system and the climate control panel is so easy to use and so spacious throught the whole car.
The handle when opening the car door was a bit hard to find and push out and the wing mirrors need to me less streamlined as its sometimes difficult to see out of.

Why change the Vauxhall Vectra to an Insignia? Its a nice looking motor and I suppose its nice to have a new modern sleek looking car, but I hate the small looking tail gate. The electrics are more reliable I think, but dont know if it will do as well as my vectra's 120000 milies, if it does then I'm all for the change. The choice of colours is rather restricted but at least touch up paint will be easy to match.
I like the sleek front lights and the ability to see round corners?? Also like the style of the rear end.
The interior is nice but I think you still need to opt for the leather finish to make the design and finish work.
A much bigger tail gate using the same design but maybe have the lights in the tail gate instead of the rear wings. A lot more extras could be addedas standard to improve its sale ability.

When I 1st went to see this car, just thought it was not for me, but had no choice and bought it, then after driving it for 2 weeks, damn it not know the amount of features the car has, large boot, space for 3 at the back, excellent heating system, even blue tooth... what else do you need?
Bluetooth, entertainment system, cd changer, wheels 18in, boot space, good diesel engine, seats space.
Windscreen, should have auto start wipers like Ford's do. Engine efficiency, outside shape made more slimer.

I have had my Insignia for a few months now and being able to compare it to both its previous incarnations (Cavalier SRI + Vectra Facelift SRI) I can say that this latest version is exactly what i would expect. Good looks, good build quality and a good engine. Whilst no super car, handling is sharp and makes it fun to drive on my local sweeping A roads.
I love the modern diesel engines. So much grunt coupled with good economy really puts me off going back to petrol - 160bhp and bags of torque surprises many a lowly VTS off the line.
The cabin is also a very nice place to be and feels modern with firm but comfortable seats; great for A roads or motorways alike.
The exterior does look like they have tried to copy a 5 series but is a good effort at market it more upmarket. I would suggest they work on cutting some of the weight as sometimes you do notice the extra weight of this over a Vectra.

I got a VX Insignia to replace my 3 year old Vectra SRI. Now I was really looking forward to this but in essence I was a tad dissapointed. Although looks far outweigh the aging Vectra and build quality on the Insignia is LOADS better, the lack of visablity compared to even the Vectra leaves a lot to be desired. Overall its not a better a drive than the Vectra!
The gadgets and stock equipment totally outweighs original Vauxhall Vectra equipment. Looks are FAR superior to the competition, much better than a Mondeo!
Handling still a bit woolly, same old Vauxhall engine and could do with an improvement performance wise both in economy and performance
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
