I'd never really considered a Volvo before having seen it as an old peoples car. However the C30 is a great little car, which make a bold fashion statement and always draws admiring glances. Although its only got the 1.6 engine, its nippy and looks a lot more sporty than it actually is. Having said that and coming from a 2.5l turbo diesel, I've found it perfectly adequate for motorway and town driving, with plenty of power to get you out of trouble should you need it. For a small car, there is actually plenty of room for 4 adults and the rear seats easily accommodate a large adult. With the rear seats down, there is a good amount of boot space although the design and small lid does make it a bit difficult to get large items in. I have also been very impressed with the Volvo after-care and they have quickly remedied the couple of small problems we have had since we bought it. Will definitely buy another C30.
Exterior and interior design. Its different enough to stand out in a crowd and the sports pack adds that finishing touch. Great interior build quality and finish. Upgraded sound system with ipod adapter is well worth extra money.
Ride is a little hard and basic specification could be improved. Lack of computer for fuel economy etc was disappointing.

I chose this car because I liked the look of it, thought it was quite sporty looking but would be solid and reliable. I was slightly concerned about the image and felt maybe I was a bit young to be considering a Volvo. However, I have been very pleased with the performance and handling. I would probably go for a bigger engine next time as sometimes the acceleration isn't as good as it could be.
I particularly like the layout of the dashboard and the unusual central console. Having built in i-pod access is also a plus. I still love the distinctive look of the car.
One drawback is the positioning of the drink holders. One is completely in the way of my left arm when driving. Also, it can be very difficult to access the rear seats.

Excellent performance all round. This is a fuel efficient vehicle as I am getting 57.4 miles to the gallon since new with 8000 miles travelled. Acceleration is good as is road holding and braking. General comfort is excellent with fully adjustable seats. Instrument panel and controls are easy to read and operate. Air conditions and heating works a treat and is simple to adjust.
General efficiency and economy of the vehicle. Low road duty coupled with very competatively priced insurance. Easy to drive and likewise easy to park.
Improve the access to rear seats. It would help a lot if the rear front seat backs could be lower further than is currently possible making access easier.

Never looked back after buying the Volvo C30. I have had it for 2 years now and am very happy. The build quality is excellent. Went for most of the extras and recommend the xenon pack, leather seats and geartronic which makes driving a dream.
Reliable, well built with lots of safety features and gadgets. It seats four people very comfortably.
The petrol consumption is more than my last car due to the large 2.5 engine. The boot may seem small but this has not significantly inconvenienced me yet.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
