I bought this car a year ago for the wife to drive, the main reasons why we choose this car were the safety features and airbags. The SE came with full leather, alloys, cruise and climate controls making it very good value for money.
The full leather interior is a definate plus and the wife loves the heated seats. The knowledge that there airbags in ever pillar, the roof and the seats is good to know, I just hope I never need to try them out. The stereo as standard is the top of the range.
There is a small blind spot on the drivers 'a' pillar that needs to be considered. A liitle extra power from the engine can only be a good thing.

I bought this car when my wife was expecting our first child. I wanted a balance between, safety, space, looks and performance; but as ever I wanted a sensible price also. The V50 gives you that. In the last 12 months I’ve driven the car 25,000 miles and other than oil, spark plugs and tyres, I haven’t changed a thing. Its comfortable smooth and just about fast enough; although I do wish I had bought either the 2.0 litre engine or the X-Type Jag.
This car has a very stylish stereo; they call it a floating console. The sound quality from this is excellent, and it looks great too. I understand that you can also clip of the front and replace it with a different design or colour, this costs around £80.
The car could benefit from a larger engine, my car is the 1.8 and although this is adequate, there have been a few times that I have wished to go a little faster.

We bought this from new as our main family car. It is all that you expect from a Volvo - safe, sturdy and reliable - not the sexiest car on the road but with two small kids that ain't what you want! Good handling, has needed minimal maintenance so far. Slight lack of legroom in the rear but not a problem for the kids! Good boot space.
Interior styling is really smart. Smooth to drive and easy to maintain - Volvo reliability means little has gone wrong so far. LOVE the heated seats!
More legroom in the back would be good. Outside appearance is still a bit boxy, but let's face it, you don't buy a Volvo for the looks.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
