Very generous sized car, front seats are comfy and the back seat seats 3 adults comfortably. Our car is beige leather upholstered and this still looks great. The car has a smooth ride and the radio, cd player is good. Very practical boot space, which is huge. Back seat folds down in 2 halves so you can have even more space if you need it.
Large boot! It has a classic, stylish look and yet is a very practical and strong car. Ours is 7 years old and besides for the number plate, does not look its age!
Leather seats are slippery so childrens booster seats slip. I had to spend a lot of money to buy one with ISOFIX (unusual for a 2nd/3rd stage car seat), as all others slipped. Volvo used to make the middle of the back seat as an inbuilt childs booster seat, why did they stop this? Would have liked to be able to use tapes as well as cd's.

This is the best car I have ever owned, it's perfect for my familiy with lots of space in the back and obviously in the boot, the boot is nice and flat giving it more space than the V40. If I drive carefully it's not too juicy on fuel and I don't find the insurance too high either. I have driven from arbroath in scotland down to deal in kent in it, and found it to be very comfortable for everybody on the long journey. The car feels nice and safe to drive, and the gear box is nice and smooth, the brakes also feel nice and responsive. The only problem I have with the car is parking it, as I'm only 5' tall it's not that easy for me to see clearly all round the car when parking in a multistory car park, I know a people carrier would be better suited to my height but I like the quality of a Volvo, and find the V70 quite pretty for an estate car.
- Power steering, I know it's standard but should never be taken for granded!
- Heated seats, these are lovely in the winter.
- The amount of space in the back seats, is great for children on long jouneys but also comfortable for adults as well.
- The safety rating of the car, is also something I find very important when i'm transporting my presious cargo.
- The fact that there is no lip on the boot, is a very good feature, I used to have a V40 which had a lip on the boot, making it very hard to get heavy things in and out of the boot.
I think Volvo could do with putting fitted booster seats in all their estate cars as standard, they really are a usefull feature particularly with older children who still need them by law but are reluctant to use them, they could also do with putting more movement in the drivers seat and steering wheel for different sized drivers, when I was pregnant I could not reach the pedals when I moved the seat back to accomodate my belly, if I could have moved the steering wheel a little bit more I would have been able to drive in my last month of pregnancy, I found this particularly frustasting!

Have owned this for several years after buying it second hand and I am very happy with how it has performed. Have used it to drive to French alps several times and also tow a boat rougly 200miles aswell. The family love it as it is spacious. Overall I am very happy with this machine.
Strong build, very reliable, family car so can fit everyone in, can tow a boat, can fit a roof rack, still going without any breakdowns.
As it is an old one it does not have any recent gadgets, it could do with sensors, a better radio, a cd player would be really nice.

I'd like to say that I ordered this car because its' eco-friendly credentials would help save the planet, but actually it was because low CO2 (129)=low company car tax, and it was big enough for my ridiculously huge dog! Although having only had a test drive in the 2 litre version, I must admit that I was a little concerned about such a big chunk of car being propelled along by a 1.6 litre engine, but I'm very pleased to say that my fears were completely unfounded. The car has plenty of power, and a surprising amount of oomph on acceleration. It also manages a very decent average of about 60 mpg, so you certainly won't be spending much time in the petrol station. The styling won't appeal to everyone-although Volvo have come leaps and bounds in the styling department, this is still very definitely an estate. However, the interior is more interesting than the normal sea of grey, with features such as a floating console, huge amount of storage and usb port as standard, and I've never driven such a comfortable car. Perhaps it's because I'm now officially 'middle-aged' (let's face it, I'm 42 and drive a beige Volvo V70-I am most definitely a grown-up!) but comfort and safety are becoming more important to me, and this car has that in spades. Having had this car since October, I have so far found no negatives, and if you're looking for a practical car, with comfort, an inherent feeling of safety and a very infrequent need to re-fuel then the V70 1.6D DrivE would be a great option.
This is a tricky one, as there's nothing in the car to dislike, but I think I'd have to say that the comfort factor wins out. Driving the V70 is a bit like driving a comfy armchair, and with its' electric adjustable drivers seat as standard, I defy anyone not to find their perfect driving position, and save it on one of the seat memory buttons-no more cursing the husband for mucking about with your seat-just press the button and back it goes to your own personal settings-excellent!
This is a good quality car, with a good standard spec, but I feel that features such as parking sensors and bluetooth should be included as standard, rather than as an optional, and far from cheap, option. It always strikes me as a bit odd that the less expensive brands are already including this type of option, but most of the "premium" brands make you pay extra.
There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
