The Ford Ka was first introduced in September 1996 with the Mk2 version released in January 2009. The new model has been co-developed with Fiat using the Fiat Panda Platform and is produced alongside the Fiat 500 in Poland. The new Ka is still as instantly recognisable as it was and has been brought up to date using Ford’s Kinetic Design Philosophy. It is available in a selection of new striking colours with a fun and fashionable interior, individual packs are available to make the Ka your own. The new model is zippy to drive with great visibility for city centre parking and the new suspension system achieves a smooth and comfortable drive. Rivals include the Fiat 500, Citroen C1, Peugeot 107 and the Kia Picanto.
For the first time Ford now offer a diesel engine in this model which is shared with the Fiat 500, it is the 1.3 TDCI Duratorq 75PS engine. They also have the 1.2 69PS petrol engine. Both models are sub -120g/km COE emissions making both choices environmentally friendly.
Trim levels start at the budget busting studio, the Style with body coloured door handles and remote central locking as standard, the Style + with air conditioning and quick clear windscreen and the top of the range sporty Zetec with Front Fogs, Privacy Glass and 15” alloys all as standard.
