The Ford Kuga first went on sale in the UK in early 2008. The chassis is based on the leading Focus Chassis and although wider and longer this makes for excellent handling with outstanding suspension for a smoother more comfortable ride, both front wheel drive and four wheel drive is offered. The interior quality is superb and is taken from the recent Ford Focus upgrade, the level of equipment is extensive with sports seats and alloys as standard features. The Ford Kuga is currently the only vehicle of its type to come in below the 170g/km CO2 at 169g/km. Aimed at the high end of the market, Ford only offer the Zetec and the Titanium specification. Rivals include the Citroen C Crosser, Dodge Nitro, Renault Koleos, Nissan Qashqai and the Jeep Cherokee.
Ford offer a 2.0 TDCi Duratorq diesel 4x2 engine and a 2.0 TDCi Duratorq diesel AWD engine both with the lowest CO2 emissions for vehicles of this type. They also offer the 2.5i petrol engine in both manual and automatic. The Kuga’s AWD system is constantly assessing driving conditions and adjusting accordingly creating excellent handling and performance.
Trim levels start at the high end Zetec with heated mirrors, 17” alloys, Keyless Start and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as standard and the top of the range Titanium with Partial Leather trim, cruise control and Auto headlamps all standard features.
