The smallest in Kia’s range, the Picanto has been available in the European market since 2004. The 4-seat compact is based on a shortened platform of the Hyundai Getz, and 5-doors come as standard. The Picanto represents good value for money and is economical to run.
The Picanto is available with 1.0-litre or 1.1-litre 5-speed SOHC petrol engines, or a 4-speed automatic transmission version is available with the 1.1-litre engine. Trims level start at the 1.0L Picanto and advance to the Picanto 2, Chill and Picanto 3. Standard features include CD audio with MP3, front electric windows, ABS braking with EBD, twin front airbags and side impact protection system, and split folding rear seats. Higher spec models add air-conditioning, remote central locking and instant mobility (tyre inflation) system. Top of the range Picanto 3 has a sporty appearance with alloy wheels and spoiler, and additionally features rear electric windows and an AUX, USB and iPOD port.
It competes with the Fiat Panda, Peugeot 107, and Suzuki Splash.
