Founded in 1944, Kia is one of South Koreas largest automobile manufacturer. Kia began to export cars to the U.S. and Australia in the 1980s and to the UK in the early 90s, initially selling just a single model. Kia has 2 compact cars, the Picanto and Rio, which are popular in much of Europe. The 2006 Kia Ceed was designed and tested with the European market in mind and has won numerous awards. The Magentis, Kias family 4-door saloon, is similar in size to the Ford Mondeo, but cheaper to buy than the smaller Focus.
