The Lexus RX450h is a full hybrid crossover SUV sold by Lexus since 2005. The RX Hybrid uses the Lexus RX body design and a Lexus Hybrid Drive powertrain. The second generation model, named the RX450h, was unveiled at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2008 and released in 2009.
The visionary new RX450h crossover seamlessly blends luxury, versatility and sophisticated performance in an intriguing design. By intelligently combining petrol and electric power, Lexus full hybrid technology delivers outstanding power whilst simultaneously reducing emissions and improving fuel economy. Inside, the visionary cabin design seamlessly blends sumptuous comfort, versatility and futuristic information technologies including Lexus remote touch, head-up display and a Mark Levinson premium surround sound system.
Unique to Lexus in the premium market segment, the full hybrid technology in the RX450h enables the vehicle to run in Electric Vehicle mode with zero emissions but as speed increases, the highly efficient 3.5-litre V6 Atkinson cycle petrol engine smoothly takes over. The 3.5-litre engine boasts a maximum speed of 124 mph and a combined fuel consumption of 44.8 mpg.
Trim levels include the SE, SE-I, SE-L and SE-L Premier. The SE-I trim includes 19" alloy wheels, body-coloured rear spoiler, traction control and Bluetooth® mobile phone connectivity. The SE-L Premier trim includes air suspension, multimedia navigation system, electrically adjustable front seats and wood inlays.
