The Mazda 6 Hatchback was first launched in 2002. This is the second generation model and was relaunched in 2007. The stylish new model features enhanced aerodynamics and has been significantly lightened which results in a sportier and sharper driving experience as well as making it one of the cleanest and most economical in its class. All Mazda's come well equipped with high tech features and this model is no exception. It is available with Bi-Xenon lights with adaptive front lighting, smart entry, push button start and integrated Bluetooth system. Its competitive pricing makes it a match for rivals such as the Ford Mondeo, Citroen C5 and Renault Laguna.
The three petrol engines available start with the 1.8 MZR with 120 PS, then the 2.0 litre MZR with 147 PS and the smooth 2.5 litre MZR engine with 170 PS. The efficient common rail turbo diesel engine options all share the 2.2 litre MZR-CD unit and come with 125, 163 or 185 PS outputs. Transmission options available include the six-speed manual and five-speed automatic.
Trim levels start with the well specced TS model, which offers 16 inch alloy wheels, front and rear electric windows, electric door mirrors and much more. The next level TS2 adds more features including six-CD autochanger, 17 inch alloy wheels and auto dimming rear-view mirror. Top of the range is the Sport model; its features include 18 inch alloy wheels, half-leather seats, tyre pressure monitoring and sports appearance pack.
