The Mercedes-Benz CLS Coupe was first launched in 2004 and recalls the fastback saloon designs of Robert Opron in the 1970s. Despite strong competition from rivals such as the BMW M3, Porsche Cayman and BMW 6 Series Coupe, the CLS Coupe boasts the "strong, emotive charisma" of a coupe with the "comfort and practicality" of a saloon.
With its low stance, distinctive arching roofline and pillarless side windows, the CLS-Class has classic coupé good looks. The latest CLS-Class incorporates several new features to enhance its elegant styling including a redesigned radiator grille and re-sculpted rear bumper. Inside, intelligent, ergonomic design and high-quality materials are hallmarks of the new CLS-Class interior. Comfort levels are second-to-none, with front seats featuring full electric adjustment. Rear passengers can enjoy highly supportive seating with generous amounts of space.
The new CLS-Class offers a range of outstanding engines, including the CLS 350 CGI. This potent V6 features direct-injection petrol technology designed to improve performance and reduce emissions. Other petrol units include two V8s – the impressive CLS 500 and the awesome CLS 63 AMG, which does 0-62 mph in only 4.5 seconds. As for diesel, the CLS 350 CDI offers a superb blend of performance and efficiency with combined fuel consumption figures of 37.2 mpg.
