Launched in 2006, the Mercedes-Benz R-Class is first full-sized multi-purpose vehicle ever produced by Mercedes-Benz. First seen at the 2001 Detroit Auto Show as the ‘Vision GST’ concept, the R-Class competes against rivals such as the Volvo V70, Audi A6 Avant and the BMW 5 Series Touring. In 2007, the R-Class range was broadened to include rear-wheel drive variants and more flexible seating options.
The new Mercedes R-Class breaks new ground in automotive design by offering the robust, muscular styling of an SUV with the elegance and dynamism of a luxury saloon. New eye-catching details of the latest R-Class Grand Edition model includes bi-xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights, heated front seats with full electric adjustment, DVD navigation and integrated 6-disc CD / DVD changer, privacy glass as standard and a selection of 11 colours to choose from, including two new finishes: Palladium Silver and Tenorite Grey.
The R-Class Grand Edition’s engine line-up comprises two V6 diesel units. The R 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY incorporates an array of energy-saving measures to enhance economy and reduce emissions. The more powerful R 350 CDI L Grand Edition produces an impressive 510 Nm of rated torque and accelerates from 0-62 mph in only 8.8 seconds.
The equipment specification on the R 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY includes stylish 17” alloy wheels while 18” alloys are available as a no-cost option. On the R 350 CDI L, 18” alloy wheels feature as standard. 19” alloy wheels and exclusive 20” AMG bi-colour light-alloy wheels with flared wheel arches can be selected as an option on both models. As a final touch, the front wings feature the “Grand Edition” or “BlueEFFICIENCY” emblem, depending on the model.
On the road prices for the new Mercedes R-Class start from £38,780

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
