The ‘new’ MINI was inspired by everyone’s favourite, the ‘Classic’ Mini. It was developed between 1995 and 2001 and was a collaborative effort between the Rover Group and BMW. However BMW took charge of the project in 1999, but when ties between BMW and Rover were discontinued in 2000, BMW retained the project and the first cars were produced in 2001.
The initial line up included 4 hatchback models, the basic MINI One, the diesel engined MINI One D, the MINI Cooper and the supercharged Cooper S. 2005 saw the introduction of the mini convertible model.
An updated MINI was introduced in 2007 and is unofficially known as the Mk II, which saw updated versions of the Hatchback models and the introduction of the Clubman. The Convertible remained in Mk 1 form.
Many options are available for the MINI range plus the Salt, Pepper and Chilli packages on selected models. A new model called the Sidewalk is now available and provides a comprehensive extras pack to the each of the convertible range.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
