The Audi R8 was named 2010 World Performance Car at the World Car of the Year Awards at the New York Auto Show last week.
The event marks the second time the Audi R8 has won the title - the original V8-powered R8 won the same award in 2008. It also marks three wins out of five for the German automaker after the RS 4 was also named World Performance Car in 2007.
At a prestigious awards ceremony, the World Car Awards jurors said: “In the opinion of many on the World Car Awards jury, Audi has at long last satisfied our hunger for a street car that lives up to the excitement of the original Le Mans series-dominating R8 LMP1 race car.”
The striking Audi R8 boasts a V10 5.2L direct injection engine which develops 525PS and can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds. It also features the latest Audi technology including quattro permanent all-wheel drive, a lightweight aluminium body and innovative all-LED lights.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
