The BMW X5 has been given the award as the best ‘Luxury Used Car of the Decade’ by CAP.
The award comes as the first decade of the new millennium draws to a close and car data supplier CAP have been dishing out the awards. BMW scooped the prize for the best used car in the luxury sector for their fantastic X5 model.
The used BMW X5 has proved to have excellent residual values as it has maintained its price across the decade. This comes from the excellent durability and reliability of the build and the exceptional styling ensuring it retains its appeal.
Mike Hind, CAP Communications Manager, said:
“For the used car buyer who does need a workhorse, with towing power and room for the whole family’s holiday load, the 2000 – 2006 BMW X5 provides it. But it also offers the opportunity to leave the green wellingtons and the horse box at home and enjoy driving as a pleasure in itself.”
Since its inception in 2000 the BMW X5 has been a popular choice with British car buyers, selling 64,063 since its launch.
The first model to feature BMW’s acclaimed xDrive four-wheel-drive system, the X5 has inspired other BMWs as well as created a new class of vehicle that has since been emulated by many other manufacturers.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
