The Chevrolet Spark has been given a starring role in the upcoming film, Transformers 3.
The new Chevrolet Spark plays an ‘autobot’, named Skidz whilst the Chevrolet Traxx plays the character Mudflap. The Spark has undergone makeovers for the role, with Skidz sporting bright green racing stripes, and Mudflap an eyecatching orange. They have also been given gloss black alloy with the autobot logo on their wheel hubs and twin exhausts.
The cars play a crucial part in the success of the Transformers films, and the images of them have become iconic. So why was the Chevrolet Spark chosen for the role of autobot?
Style
· Its small dimensions (3.64m by 1.6m) make it a nimble, speedy car, perfect for getting through tight spaces in a high-speed chase.
· Its sculpted headlights and high tail lights look good and improve visibility, making it easier to spot the enemy.
· The interior controls are well laid-out and easy to use – they light up in ice blue so they’re easy to use in the dark.
· The seats are ergonomically designed with strong knit upholstery which stays looking and feeling great.
Speed
· The raised wheel arches and integrated rear spoiler help improve aerodynamics, making this car one of the speediest robots around.
· The 1.0 litre engine can go from 0-62mph in 15.5 seconds, while the 1.2 litre engine can do it in 12.1 seconds, making it the perfect getaway car for the hero.
Safety
· The Chevrolet Spark has 6-zone airbags (including seat-mounted thorax and abdomen airbags), so that you’re protected from all directions in case of attack.
· The chassis is able to withstand over 1.4 times its own weight.
· ESC (Electronic Safety Control) gives you outstanding control when taking corners.
· The car received a 4 Star Euro NCAP rating.
The Chevrolet Spark has a range of features which make it the perfect choice for an action movie car/star. It looks great, drives well, and combines speed and good aerodynamics with excellent safety features.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
