The Ford Focus has been awarded car of the Used Car of the Decade beating close rivals like the VW Golf.
As we move forward with 2010 we can now look back at some of the high points of the last decade. Under close assessment the Ford Focus has been selected as the Used Car of the Decade.
Car pricing expert CAP looked over their data and assessed which car performed best over the past year. CAP selected the Focus as the overall winner of its Used Cars of the Decade Awards, hailing it as the most desirable family car since the Volkswagen Golf.
The body stated that qualities of the Focus have brought benefits not only to drivers but also to car sellers, as it has consistently maintained its market demand in the same way its predecessor the Escort did.
Mark Norman, chairman of the CAP judging panel, therefore described the vehicle as a "safe bet" in which second hand traders could have confidence.
He said:
"Because the Focus has always been a well-engineered and durable product it consistently offers a reliable sales opportunity used car retailers."
According to figures from Ford, the Focus is currently the UK's second best-selling car of the year to date, behind only the manufacturer's own Fiesta.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
