Motoring aristocrat, Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis, collects his new Corvette ZR-1 super car.
Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis is a descendant of one of Germany’s oldest and wealthiest families.
From his privileged background the Prince has become a rather successful race driver in his own right. He currently holds the European Lamborghini Cup, is vice champion of the German ADAC GT Masters 2008 and presently races in the FIA GT European Championship on Lamborghini.
The new Corvette ZR-1 super car is exactly that. In simple terms the ZR-1 has 647 horsepower with 819 Nm of torque to propel from 0 – 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds topping out at 205 mph.
They have taken race technology and blended it into a sports car using the latest in electronics with new solutions in construction, assembly, and use of carbon-fiber and ceramics.
This amount of horse power comes from a typical American muscle engine weighing in at 6.2L. Despite recently writing about America becoming ethical with its motoring choices, Corvette remains belligerent to this shift and stick with the massive V8 powertrains.
So long as there a ridiculously wealthy German Princes living in the mountains of Switzerland, Corvette will keep rolling out the power houses.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
