The Mini celebrates 50 years of success with a special party and celebrity tributes.
The Mini is turning 50 years old this year and have laid on a host of celebrations. The main event is to be held at the Silverstone this bank holiday weekend and is called Mini United.
It features live music from top bands and DJs including Raygun, Chris Thompson, Twisted Wheel and Calvin Harris.
In addition, the event organisers have already secured the Modfather himself, Paul Weller.
Mini have also commissioned art works to commemorate the birthday from some unusual artists. Ian Cook is an exceptional artist with a rather unique style. he used remote control cars to paint his work. Similar to the recently reported artwork on the BMW Z4 advert, Ian uses the same principle but on a much smaller scale.
This weekend the Formula 1 circus has hit the world famous Monaco circuit with all its glitz and glamour. I've just been watching the current practice session and noticed a little tribute. Look out for Robert Kubica's BMW with a happy birthday message to Mini on the side.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
