The cheeky Kia Picanto has been named most reliable new car by Which? magazine.
The annual reliability survey - which is judged by Which? members - voted the Kia Picanto as the most reliable car of 2010, beating off established rivals from Japanese and European brands.
The Picanto achieved a reliability score of 98.1%, winning the top spot and also featured in the top 5 of cars aged four to eight years old.
“You don’t expect a new car to go wrong – but our rigorous research shows there’s a big difference between the best and worst. Some small cars, particularly Korean and Japanese superminis, run like clockwork. Whereas some bigger cars, which you might expect to be more robust, aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.” Commented Peter Vicary-Smith, Chief Executive of Which? magazine.
The accolade comes weeks after Kia launched two new black and white Domino special edition Kia Picanto models, featuring exclusive colour schemes and equipment lists.
Michael Cole, Managing Director of Kia Motors UK said: “We at Kia know that Picanto is a great car and this feedback shows how dependable it is. That is why since the start of this year all of our vehicles also come with a manufacturer-backed seven year warranty, the best in the business.”
On the road prices for the Kia Picanto range start from £7,290, rising to £9,295 for the Picanto 2 Auto model.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
