50 not-out and Mini is still going strong. To celebrate, Mini are hosting a motor festival with headliner Paul Weller.
Mini has been an icon of Britishness for the last half a century. My father owned Minis when he was just a lad watching the Busby Babes and still they just as strong.
To celebrate this coming of age Mini are hosting a festival at the home of British Motor Sport, Silverstone. The event called Mini United will involve a variety of motor sport and musical displays.
On the stage they have already signed up ‘The Modfather’ himself, Paul Weller. Mr Weller comments, Paul said:
“As a lifelong MINI driver, I am really happy to be taking part in its 50th anniversary celebrations.”
Also playing will be popular DJs and musicians Calvin Harris, Chris Thompson, Raygun and Twisted Wheel.
Guests will also have the chance to race their own Minis around the famous track or be driven in a once in a life time experience.
In addition, the third and fourth races of the popular Mini Challenge series will be held during the event.
Camping is available in the nearby Whittlebury Park with space for up to 10,000 tents. With prices at just £35 for the full three day event there’s a good chance they will fill it. Happy Birthday!

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
