
Pirates from Somalia have captured yet another vessel, but this one was filled with brand new Kia and Hyundai cars.
These scurvy sea dogs off the coast of Somalia have been plundering the bounty from this area for some time now with some high profile cases. Now they have taken a ship filled with thousands of brand new Hyundai and Kia cars.
The company are requesting the safe return of the crew and have not requested any of the cars to be returned. They want their crew to be safe and have already received payment for every vehicle so they have no interest in them. The ship taken on New Year’s Day is manned by 25-crew and holds over 2,000 new cars.
Luckily for UK customers they are not on their way to us and were destined for Saudi Arabia so you will not be disrupted. The cars are also insured during their transit so you don’t have to worry in future about buying or leasing a new Kia or Hyundai.
The ship was around 620 miles off the coast of Somalia when it was hijacked, and becomes the 12th to fall into the hands of pirates in the region.
Warships patrol the region, and to put the dozen hijacked ships into context, around 30,000 ships sail through the area per year.
