In all sales figures from companies involved with Mercedes they managed to shift 100,000 vehicles in the month of March.
Based on worldwide figures, Mercedes and its subsidiary companies have had promising results and had growth in new areas suggesting more sales on the horizon.
Vehicles from the Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Maybach and popular Smart car topped out at around 110,400 units sold. The most impressive news was that Chinese sales increased by 42.3% on sales from march last year.
Dr Klaus Maier, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars, said:
"Orders for the E-class sedan in Germany in the first quarter of this year were more than double the number posted in the same period in 2008."
"We had already received about 50,000 orders for the new E-Class sedan by its market launch at the end of March."
As has been the trend for the last few months Smart cars have been a substantial part of the sales figures totalling 11,900 worldwide leaving 98,500 for the other companies.
Jack Rix recently stated when writing for Autocar that the Mercedes-Benz E220 CDI is "smooth at all times" and comes "stuffed with technology".

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
