Whilst others are stopping production, the Toyota RAV4 starts up.
IN the current economic dowturn many factories are reducing production. Seat have reduced manufacturing, Land Rover are having a longer Christmas break whilst Honda's Swindon plant have also reduced output.
Despite this Toyota have started production earlier this month of the RAV4, the first plant outside Japan.
The plant based in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada has nothing to do with the legendary music concert. However, the workers there will certainly be singing to the tune of 75,000 new vehicles being produced a year.
The 1.1 billion Canadian dollar investment represents a bold move by Toyota.
"We started production in nearby Cambridge 20 years ago, and the Woodstock plant reflects our continuing commitment to Canada, " said Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
