Mazda has released the first official photos and details of new 2010 Mazda5 prior to its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The all-new model gets a style makeover to bring it in to line with the rest of the ‘Zoom Zoom’ range and its functionality has also been increased thanks to its rear sliding doors and up to 7-seat Karakuri flexibility.
The exterior design has also been given a bit of a facelift with Mazda's 'Nagare Flow' design language prominent throughout. The new styling changes will also help contribute to better fuel efficiency thanks to the low drag coefficient, optimal lift and air-flow stability improvements.
The new range includes a new 2.0-litre DISI petrol engine equipped with i-stop and a six-speed manual transmission. The new direct-injection petrol engine offers smooth performance and an economical 15% reduction in CO2 emissions. A new 1.8 litre petrol engine with six-speed manual transmission also joins the lineup.
Mazda claim the new Mazda5 has been designed and developed to be especially good at meeting the needs of European families with active lifestyles.
Hideki Matsuoka, Mazda5 Programme Manager said: "In approaching development of the all-new Mazda5, our team aimed to create a new C-MAV that combines superb practicality with the superior environmental performance these modern times demand and a new expression in stylish design."
The all-new Mazda5 is due to make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show on 2nd March and will go on sale across Europe later this year.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
