Official pictures of the fourth-generation BMW 5 Series Touring have been released. The new 2011 model is the final vehicle to join BMW’s revised 5 Series range after the 5 Series Saloon and GT.
The new 2011 5 Series Touring boasts increased boot space, a revised interior and a host of new technology.
The rear boot space has been increased to 560 litres – 60 litres more than the current model. The full 5 Series Touring range will also have 40/20/40 flat-folding rear seats, a boot cover that retracts and lowers with the boot lid and a glass window in the tailgate opens separately to aid practicality.
Rear air suspension, leather interior automatic air conditioning and parking sensors are all now offered as standard and the 5 Series Touring also gets an interior inspired by the bigger 7-series. Automatic parking system, four-wheel steering, head-up display, night vision and a speed limit recognition device are available as options.
Under the bonnet, the new 2011 5 Series Touring has a choice of two petrol (523i and 535i) and two diesel (520d and 530d) engines. The new 520d (expected to be the biggest selling model in the UK) comes with start/stop technology as standard and all Touring models come with a six-speed manual gearbox and BMW’s Efficient Dynamics technology.
The new 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring goes on sale in the UK on 18 September 2010.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
