Would you like a new Honda that is light, manoeuvrable, quiet and offers high performance for only £530?
Unfortunately this isn’t a brand new Honda Civic or even a new Honda Jazz but a new Honda lawn mower.
Their new advertising campaign suggests that what they do elsewhere in the company benefits the development and production of new cars that you and I buy.
This new Honda is part of a new range strengthening ‘its comprehensive lawn mower line-up for 2010’.
The new Honda HRS536 SDE:
These all sound like wonderful qualities you would like to see in a new car. One feature you might not want in a new Honda is a 21” cutting range, however it could come in handy on the morning commute. Martin Moll, Head of Marketing for Honda (UK) Power Equipment comments:
“A rough cut model is a natural addition to our range, with many customers keeping rough or long grass areas; around trees and allotments for example. With our UM range aimed more at heavier commercial customers, the HRS536 SDE offers a perfect solution for the less demanding user – giving an excellent and fast rough cut on a wide range of terrain, but in a more lightweight package. The simple and effective mulching capability further adds to its appeal, ensuring a tidier cut with the benefits of applying mulch.”
I’m reasonably confident no-one reading this site will be in the slightest bit bothered about a new Honda lawnmower but with the new ad campaign I thought there must be some point in the press release. On closer inspection I can see some parallels in comparative quality standards etc but at the end of the day it’s a lawn mower not a new car.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
