Honda Hybrid Sports Car

Honda Hybrid Sports Car

Honda releases the new hybridised version of their popular CR-Z sports car.

Tokyo is the venue for the next major motor show and the big Japanese manufacturers are coming out in force on their home turf.

Honda will have plenty to shout about but one concept stands out as it won’t be a concept for long but it’ll be in UK showrooms by the summer of 2010. The hybrid battle rages on as Honda look to fill the latest niche.

Take one extremely popular and successful sports car then add years of hybrid technology and you have a winner. The style will be coming, if you haven’t guessed it, from the original coupes who’s lines haven’t been tampered with much over the years.

The hybrid will retain the CR-Z badge which fittingly stands for Compact Renaissance Zero as the hybrid design could be a renaissance for the internal combustion engine. Being badmouthed as a major polluter, the advancements in hybrid technology may well allow the ‘rebirth’ of the combustion engine.

This may be a renaissance in petroleum powered motoring but this will not have exactly zero emissions. The hybrid engine will make it more economical but there is no escaping the sporty engine Honda will put inside.

Sources believe it will not be the same 1.5-litre engine in the Insight although little information has been released. More details will be revealed on the first press day of the Tokyo Show on October 21st.

Car Leasing vs Buying

Car Leasing Video DemoThere are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
