Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG – Photos & Spec

Mercedes-Benz has released full specification details and exclusive photos of the all-new Mercedes CL 63 AMG high performance coupe.

The Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG features a striking new design, high-tech drive system, new 5.5L V8 AMG engine and improved fuel consumption.

A range of optional extras and state-of-the-art technology is also now available on the luxury sports coupe including new AMG Performance Studio & Designo Packs.

Striking Style:

The new Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG features a striking new dynamic style. The bonnet, headlamps, radiator grille, bicolour tail lamps and the newly designed AMG bodystyling give the new CL 63 AMG a more athletic, confident appearance. New AMG triple-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in titanium grey have also been added to complete the new look.

Inside, the new CL 63 AMG boasts an AMG sports steering wheel with silver-coloured aluminium shift paddles, specially shaped grip area with perforated nappa leather and as "AMG V8 Biturbo" start screen in the instrument panel. A new SPLITVIEW system for the COMAND multimedia centre is also available as an optional extra.

Power & Performance:

Making its debut in the all-new Mercedes CL 63 AMG is the newly developed AMG 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine, delivering a whopping 571 hp and torque of up to 900 Nm. The new engine boasts improvements in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of 26.9 mpg. Twined with the unique AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission, the new high performance coupe is 38% more economical than the previous model.

The new Mercedes CL 63 AMG delivers the superior performance of a sports car, accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. Add the AMG Performance package and the 62 mph mark is reached in just 4.4 seconds with the top speed increased to an electronically limited 186 mph.

State-Of-The-Art Technology:

All CL 63 AMG models will now include Direct-Steer system, Torque Vectoring Brake and crosswind stabilisation as standard. The Direct-Steer system and Torque Vectoring Brake both help ensure a more direct response when cornering, while the new crosswind stabilisation compensates the effect of strong crosswinds by adjusting the wheel load distribution within milliseconds.

A number of optional extras have been added to the CL 63 AMG equipment list including Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind-Spot Assist. Active Lane Keeping Assist works by applying the brakes when the CL 63 AMG unintentionally strays over a solid line on the right or left of a lane. The new Active Blind Spot Assist warns the driver by displaying a red warning light in the side mirror when it detects that changing lanes would be too dangerous.

AMG Performance Studio & Designo Packs:

For those wishing to personalise their new CL 63 AMG, two new packs including the AMG Performance Studio and Designo packs are now available.

The AMG Performance Studio adds AMG double-spoke forged wheels in titanium grey, AMG Exterior Carbon package, AMG performance steering wheel in Alcantara leather, carbon-fibre trim elements and an increase in maximum power of 27 hp and maximum torque of 100 Nm.

The Designo pack includes exclusive paint finishes, leather upholstery, trim elements and Designo steering wheel.

The new Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG starts from £52,925 on the road.

Car Leasing vs Buying

Car Leasing Video DemoThere are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
